The Morning
Set in newly-Independent South Korea, this story explores the plight of farmers in the wake of new land reforms. Chun-bae, a farmer who has spent most of his life farming, is worried about his son, Chang-su, who has been enlisted into the military. Unlike the rest of his family, who worry for his well-being inside the military, Chun-bae is more worried about what Chang-su will do after he leaves the military. Will he follow in his father’s footsteps and dedicate his life to farming? Or will he abandon his family and go to Seoul in search for a better life?
