The Murders of Mutchrose Village is an old-fashioned murder mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat right to the very end. Simon Murphy's second novel departs from the usual crime thriller by bringing in the wierd world of the supernatural, local superstitions and good old spine-tingling horror. Who is committing the grisly murders in this sleepy hamlet? Read it and enjoy!

The Murders of Mutchrose Village is a unique book in that it doesn't follow the usual 'murder mystery' theme by allowing you to fathom out the culprit early on in the book. To some this may spoil the plot but I found that (in this case) this does not affect the reading. The characters are strong and you are drawn along by the way the villan (he or she? not wanting to spoil it) takes on the role of a Roman in a insane idea to raise the evil soul of an ancient long dead madman. The heroes of the piece know the villan but they have to work together to piece the clues and catch their man with themselves...buy it and read for yourselves. Excellent read.

I found the length of this book to be just right as it was a book you could take on holiday or read while on a train, bus or plane and thoroughly enjoy it. I found the subject matter to appeal to me very much as I like murder mysteries and this was one with a difference because of the ancient Roman twist while all the time being set in a small English village. I found this altogether a thoroughly enjoyable read and look forward to any further murder mysteries this author may write.
