I got this deck as my first deck, and I was very dissapointed with it. The art on the cards is not too bad, at least for the major arcana and the court cards, but the minor arcana was pretty useless--it just had the number and the suit. The suits were also not so useful, in that they used elements (fire/earth/air/water) rather than the traditional suits (wands/pentacles/swords/cups.) They also changed a bunch of names in the major arcana--death became 'changing,' the devil was 'temptation,' the hanged-man was 'self-sacrifice' and the fool was 'begining.' The worst part of all, however, were the discriptions and interpretations. The author sugar-coated everything so horribly that most of the meanings were utterly lost. The ten of swords/air, for example, is traditionally interpreted as catastrophy, sudden loss, etc. This book has it listed as 'a life heading towards light simple pleasures and problems solved are the theme of card ten.' (p.95) If you're not really serious about tarot, and are just looking for a parlor trick to make your friends feel good about their lives rather than actually peering into the future, than this is definately the deck and book for you. but if you're serious about learning or practicing tarot, leave this one on the shelf as a waste of time and money.
