I ordered this book for a gift to a family member who is a bird watcher enthusiast. She has wonderful gardens for birds and butterflies. While I am not an enthusiast of her league, I do enjoy watching nature. I just don't feel the need to know every name of every species as she does. Despite my lack of "knowledge", I was impressed with the sheer volume of information in this book. If you like going on hikes, it is a size easily carried. If you have the garden, as my family member does, and you love to watch it out your window.Well I recommend this for you too, if for no other reason than the clarity of the pictures for each species (they were absolutely beautiful). Thinking of giving it as a gift? Well, you simply cannot go wrong where a nature enthusiast is concerned.
