She was from the wrong side and was from money. This is one of those stories that pull at your heart strings. Sara has not had an easy life growing up. Her mom was an alcoholic and pretty much raised her younger sister. Now is is back, raising her son and helping her mom. Her ex is not around. James is Sara's whole especially after the cancer scare when he was a toddler. She was worried and took him to the oncologist. Dr. Harrison Thornton. The family with money & influence in their home town. Now they have things to work through.

Enjoyed Sara and Harrison love story; and Harrison interactions with James, Sara's son who's in remission from cancer. Harrison comes from a monied family, Sara from the wrong side of town. Sara overcomes her childhood and her divorce. The downside is Harrison ' s mother Lisa has tried to break them up. The ending leaves you hanging, they get engaged ... ends with what will Lisa reaction be.

Could use a bit of editing ( is it Devon or Devin.. etc), but nice love story.

I really liked this romance until the end where it leaves you hanging. Sara and Harrison didn't get finished, it was a rushed unfinished story. Like someone else said what was Lisa's reaction. 173 pages. Planned on reading next book but won't as I Hate writers that do cliff hangars, trying to force you to buy the next book to find out the rest of the story. GJRA

This was a great love at first sight novel. Sara is a funny, intelligent, and independent single parent caring for a sick child. Harrison is a charming, sweet, and compassionate doctor. When these two get together, sparks fly and an instant attraction is ignited. These two have many ups and downs and self doubts. But it’s a sweet romantic novel about finding and keeping love when it seems the world is against you.

Sara goes back home to support her mother and, at the same time, to get away from her husband after their divorce. She took her son Jams to the oncologist afraid of cancer he suffered is back again. Harrison is an oncologist and when he sees Sara, something stirs within himself. I like the book and the characters. I can understand perfectly how Sara feels. All the things that had happened to her undermined her confidence but at the same time, they made her strong even if she doesn’t know yet. Just when everything seems lost, she takes the strength she has to fight against everybody for what she really wants. I can understand a mother wants to protect their children but I think Harrison’s mother just goes over the top without realizing her son is an adult man and can decide for himself and I think her husband should have stopped her. I love little James, how smart he is understanding what happens to his mum. He is so cute. There are some editing problems that need to be taken care of but not so bad as to not being able to read the book. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy given to me by Booksprout.

The Nearness of You by Iris Morland ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent! This book really touched my heart. Harrison Thornton is to die for, he's handsome, rich, educated (a doctor), and very easy to talk to. Sara Flannigan is beautiful and a great mother to her son James. Harrison and Sara meet in his office when she worries that James' cancer has returned. He's quite impressed with the woman and wrestles with the idea of asking her out, since she was a patients mother. The two, or three, of them together get along famously. It's all so sweet. That is until Harrison's mother butts in. Then, it seems all bets are off! It was heartbreaking at times and lovely at other times; like when James calls Harrison to tell him to please call his mom. I really loved these characters and everything that they were. I can't wait till I read the following book! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It was such a wonderful book. I didn’t want to put it down. It was a real life story with real people with upbringings so different. Sara with a poor and painful growing up and Harrison with a family with money. Iris Morland this was a home run. Loved it.

Sara Flannigan is from the “wrong side of the tracks”, her son's doctor and her love interest is Dr.Harrison Thornton of the prestigious Thornton family. It is totally obvious to Sara that she and Harrison will never be a couple that his family will tolerate. Harrison, however, is determined that Sara and her son will be his. Can these two lovers overcome their perceived difficulties and form forever family? Ms. Morland heartwarming story is a story well worth reading and I highly recommend reading The Nearness of You. I received this ARC book from the from BookSprout and I am freely posting this fair and balanced review.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. One thing I can say about the author is how strong she is with her writing. Not only does she make her characters strong, but what weakness she does show gives them only gives them humanity as well making them relatable. From intense mothers who lord over their children to one mother just trying to make sure her son gets the life he deserves, I couldn’t put the book down. I instantly bought the rest of the series and preordered the rest. If you love a good romance with a strong storyline, this is the book for you. It’s not just about the love that’s made but how that love builds and grows. I can’t wait to read anything this author puts out and look forward to Till There Was You!

Sara Flannigan grew up poor, from the "wrong side of town." She left her hometown after high school and returned divorced with her young son. Harrison Thornton is the oldest son of the illustrious Thornton family. His family, mother, would never accept a woman like Sara. Harrison is older but still VERY naive about his family, how they rule the town, and how snobby his mother is. I was annoyed with him when he would not believe Sara when she broached the subject with him. Sara is still hurt by the horrible rumors from high school and her former classmates continue the problems when she is out with Harrison. She also has self worth issues and believes herself beneath notice from Harrison or any decent man. Sara exasperates the situation. HEA. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Heartwarming emotional journey for a single mom and a great opposites that grew up in the same town but don't really spark till later in life romantic adventure. Very sweet love that grows from an unexpected place for both of them and a real relatable story about family and friends and the ties that bind us to one another. Her son is so adorable and Harrison is so sweet and has a huge heart. Highly entertaining start to this interesting new series by this wildly fun new author. Looking forward to the next visit to see The Thorntons.
