What People are Saying About This

Mark Thompson

"Howard and Joelle have created an extraordinary book about how women can take advantage of the critical opportunities today that can transform their roles and build their careers as organizational leaders in the 21st century."

Jonathan D. Klein

"My experience in working with senior women leaders has been extraordinarily positive over the years. Books on this subject often focus on finding fault with the past, yet this excellent book takes a proactive approach to the challenges that senior women leaders face. The dialogue it will provoke should result in a more cohesive and collaborative workplace to the benefit of both genders."

Sally Helgesen

"The New Advantage offers compelling real-world guidance for women seeking to strengthen themselves as leaders while creating more satisfying and sustainable careers. By encouraging women to focus on their own development, and then offering tested practices to help them do this—that is, by focusing on what really works—Howard and Joelle have provided an invaluable service, not just to women but to organizations and to the world. Great stuff!"

Ken Blanchard

"Throughout history any long-lasting social change has come from a grassroots ‘people' effort. The best of organizations embrace diversity training and programs for high potentials. What was needed is a way to blend programs and grassroots efforts for women. We have it! In The New Advantage Howard and Joelle provide a powerful pragmatic road map for women to catapult their careers and take control of their lives."

A Crucial Book for Women, Leaders & Companies Having more women in leadership roles is crucial for companies that want to be successful in a diverse and changing world. The New Advantage shows women how to elevate themselves into those senior-level positions and describes what their companies need to do to support them. Every executive should have a copy and give it to both the men and women on the team.

As an executive, I’ve seen first-hand that a better balance of men and women on leadership teams leads to better business – better decisions, better discussion, and ultimately, better results. The New Advantage takes away the struggle and clears the path for leadership teams to get that balance.

Corporate Leaders – A Book for Better Teams “In the last few years, corporate executives have been studying our records with women in leadership and finding them abysmal. We have to have more women in leadership, but how? The New Advantage is an eye opener as to why more women haven’t gained ground in the higher ranks of leadership. Howard Morgan and Joelle Jay provide practical, specific plans that executives can follow to help their companies balance their leadership teams equally with the talents of both men and women.”

An Executive's Perspective on Women in Leadership “Our customers and stakeholders are diverse. We need the perspectives of women on our leadership team so we can better serve the needs of our constituents and make better business decisions. Howard Morgan and Joelle Jay understand that. In The New Advantage, they help not just women but companies break through that old “glass ceiling” to a way of leading that’s fitting for the 21st century.”

Executive presence; sponsorship; balance – these are all areas women need to master to reach the top of their careers and the top of the corporate ladder. Unfortunately, they are widely misunderstood and almost never taught to women. In The New Advantage, Joelle Jay and Howard Morgan give women the advantage of grasping the importance of the dilemmas women often face in corporate settings and overcoming them with grace and confidence. This book is an incredible resource for all women in leadership!
