I've watched her from afar for weeks. And she has no idea.

Bleu MacAllister ran from me three months ago. She thought she could disappear from my life. My beloved believed I'd let her go.

Bleu says I won't find her; she changes like a chameleon. Wrong, again. Some things remain unaltered. She's still beautiful. Sexy as hell. And I want her more than my next breath.

The circumstances bringing us together have changed. It's a precarious situation because my bonny lass is a hunted traitor. But I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

She will be my wife.

I am Sinclair Breckenridge. And I'm coming for her.

In the first book of the SIN trilogy, tensions were high between the characters when they finally were able to face the truth. Bleu MacAllister is now back home after leaving the love of her life back in Scotland. It has been moths since they've seen one another, and everyday she is reminded of the man that became so much more for her. But knowing that she couldn't go through with her plan has been killing her. Yet that doesn't last long when Sin appears back in her life ready to handle the obstacles ahead of them with the woman that he loves. With that said, he is willing to help her avenge her mother, but can they really trust each other in order to move on as a couple? After reading the book, I couldn't wait to read the second book in the trilogy. Sin is perfect for Bleu and he couldn't let her go that easily. After discovering Bleu's plan, Sin was left in shocked and couldn't believe what Bleu was about to do to his father. But he took it upon himself to find her after she left, and now he is able to make the biggest decision of his life, one that will change their lives forever. In the second book we get to learn more about what truly happened to Bleu's mom. Her killer is still out there and she will not stop at nothing until she finds him. On the other hand, Sin has a plan to make Bleu part of his life permanently, and is ready to against his own family if he has to. At the end of the first book we are left with a cliffhanger, but Cates has outdone herself with the second book, it has so much more plot that will definitely keep you at the edge of your seat. I can't wait to read the end of the book, it's going to be epic. :) ***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.***

The Next Sin by Georgia Cates is the second book in her new series The Sin trilogy. It picks up where book one, A Necessary Sin, left off. If you have not read book one already then this review will probably contain SPOILERS so consider yourselves warned. Sin knows all about Bleu's revenge plot. He knows she is former FBI and that his "uncle" is hell bent on destroying her and quite possible him too. He let her leave and escape back to the States but he hasn't stopped doing everything he can to make it possible for her to return. Bleu is devastated. Her whole life plan was about revenge against the man who murdered her mother and tried to kill her. She has always believed it was Thane Breckenridge. She never planned to fall in love with his son and she never expected to doubt that Thane was the killer. Everything is turning on it's head and her dad is quickly succumbing to his cancer. Her world is in ruins and she doesn't know what to do next. This book will leave you hanging and impatiently awaiting the release of the final book, One Last Sin.

3.75 stars--THE NEXT SIN is the second installment in Georgia Cates contemporary, adult The Sin Trilogy erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on former FBI Special Agent Bleu MacAllister, and heir to the Fellowship Crime family Sinclair Breckenridge. Their continuing story commences approximately three months following the events of book one. Because this is a trilogy, the books should be read in order for cohesion, history and understanding. NOTE: If you have not read the first book in the series, there may be some spoilers in my review. Told from alternating first person points of view (Sin and Bleu) the storyline follows Sinclair’s need to protect the woman that he loves. After his uncle Abram uncovers the truth about Bleu’s identity, Sinclair’s only option is to send Bleu back to the United States lest she becomes the next victim of the Fellowship’s revenge. For close to three months Sin follows Bleu in order to protect her from his avenging uncle who will not stop until Bleu is dead. Sin’s only recourse is to marry Bleu and present her back to the Fellowship as his wife. Wives and family are off limits within the Brotherhood but they are not off limits to enemy crime families. A major portion of THE NEXT SIN continues to focus on Bleu and Sin’s relationship from their very quick reconciliation to a newly married and their attempts to start a family. Georgia Cates takes the reader through Bleu and Sin’s struggles to conceive; and Bleu’s hunt for the person who destroyed her family and murdered her mother. As Bleu begins to strike suspects off her list, one very familiar name continues to top her very personal investigation. The sex scenes are frequent, intimate and intense. Sin is a man possessed by the woman that he loves but discovers that the Fellowship is beginning to take up more of his time than his new wife wants. The secondary characters continue to play an active role throughout the storyline including Sin’s uncle Abram who has targeted Bleu for her initial betrayal and lies to the Fellowship and Sin. Uncle Abram knows more than he is letting on. Sin’s mother Isobel becomes very maternal; his father Thane welcomes his new daughter in law into the family but all is not right with the Brotherhood-Bleu may be protected but that isn’t stopping the attempts to threaten her into submission. The violence, is once again, limited to behind the scenes where the aftermath plays a role in the Fellowship’s retaliation and revenge. Towards the end of this installment, the drama begins to unfold as we watch Bleu and Sin’s world begin to fall apart. Their newly wedded bliss is short lived and constantly threatened from outside and from within. There are some issues of character perspective and points of view throughout the storyline. The alternating first person points of view were offset with third person POV, sometimes within the same paragraph or sentence. It was a little disconcerting with the shift between perspectives especially when it was not intentional or part of the set up. The POV issue affected the smooth flow of the storyline. I purchased my copy of THE NEXT SIN; I did not receive an ARC therefore the issues within the novel were not corrected prior to release. THE NEXT SIN is a storyline that focuses on revenge, betrayal, family and love. There is passion, romance, seduction and breathtaking intimacy. We are witness destruction and death among the Brotherhood, as well as retaliation for a killing that was never meant to be. Georgia Cates pulls the reader into a suspense filled storyline where we are constantly waiting for the ‘proverbial shoe to fall’. No one is safe; everyone is suspect; and the newest member of the Breckenridge family has become a pawn in a war between crime families, and a battle for control of the Fellowship.

The only flaws I found with this book is having to wait a month for the third book to be released. Love the story, the characters, writing style. Georgia Cates-- for the love of God please never stop writing! It would be a travesty. I now understand how some people get crazy obsessive over a book or series. This series is the shiz!

I’d commit all the seven deadly sins to have Sinclair Brekenridge as my next sin! Georgia Cates knows how to keep you glued to the pages of her stories. I always enjoy when you get to see the struggles that come with being in a relationship, rather than just the story leading up to it. Fair warning, there is a massive cliffhanger and I am now officially in a book hangover! Sin was already on my dreamy list after A Necessary Sin, but this book has moved him sky high! There is nothing sexier than a man who adores his woman. He is determined to put her first, to protect her, and to be her partner rather than her leader. He doesn’t want the kind of marriage that his parents have, and he has made promises that will cause ripples within The Fellowship.  Bleu’s vulnerabilities are magnified in this second installment. She has to give up everything if she wants to be with Sinclair, not just her family, but in a way, everything that she has believed in. Her strength is every bit a part of her as it was in the first book, but she has also been thrust into a world and role without much time to adjust. The same demons of her past haunt her, as well as the evil in her present. In order to keep their future from falling apart, she and Sin are forced to move things forward as a family and as leaders, in a faster time frame that she would have liked. But as it was before, Bleu accepts her reality with grace and determination. Both Sin and Bleu are hard not to like. Georgia Cates knows how to bring the suspense! I am desperate to know who killed her mother, and while I was afraid it was becoming predictable at one point, I should have known better! The author threw a wrench in my assumptions and then left me hanging out to dry on the last page. I’m hovering over the precipice right now and the next book can’t come quick enough!  5 sparkling stars!
