The Night Search based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
The author, who is blind, writes of young Heather, who, while at camp, decides she does not need her cane for a walk at night with Crackers, her dog. But Crackers becomes lost during the rainy night walk, and Heather becomes disoriented as she tries to find Crackers and make her way back to the tent. A valuable lesson is learned about the importance of the cane; she finds Crackers as well as a suitable stick which helps her negotiate her and the dog's way back to their tent. Nicely illustrated and solidly bound, this is approved by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The entire Turtle Book series is about various children's physical and mental handicaps in a let's-deal-with-this approach, of value to caregivers, playmates, and the children themselves.
