About the Author

Dellani is a happily married mother of four—three boys and a girl. She also has one beautiful, golden haired granddaughter. She lives in the sunny, hot climes of Florida's east coast, not far from World Famous Daytona Beach. Dellani published her 9th novel in October of 2015, and has more raring to go. She once bragged to her publisher that she had enough books to put out 4 books a year for the next 10 years, but it's now the next 20. She just has to get her rear in gear and do it! Dellani hosts two shows a month on Blog Talk Radio – Dellani's Tea Time and What's Write for Me, which air on the Red River Radio Network. Look for Dellani's shows the second Monday of the month and the fourth Wednesday. Both shows air at 4:00 PM Eastern time.

The Ninja Tattoo by Dellani Oakes is a terrific read.  Fast paced, action packed, with just enough good lovin to soften the edges.  I've updated my Christmas list to include a Teague of my own.  A chance encounter including hitting Vivica with a door, bring Teague into life or death situations in order to safe his new love.  I am amazed and intrigued by the entire family.  I hope there are more stories to come.

Fun dialog and compelling romance combine with fast-paced action in Dellani Oakes’ The Ninja Tattoo. Bad guys and good carry knives, guns and gardening implements, ride motorcycles, and terrorize strangers. Meanwhile a chance encounter at a coffee-shop leads two very likeable characters into a dance of cautious love, delightful and terrifying family encounters, and horrifying fear. It also leads them into bedrooms where the action is just as explicit as in car-chase, knife-fight and more. Teague has all the battle-skills you’d expect of an army vet. Viva has the lovely allure of a confident woman learning to believe in love. There’s a Florida family of wonderful characters, the small-town charm of a place where everyone knows everyone else, and the terror of mob violence, all skillfully woven together and convincingly told. A fast-flowing story, smooth as a movie, filled with memorable scenes and characters, The Ninja Tattoo is fun just waiting to be filmed. Disclosure: I won an ecopy of this novel in a blog competition.

Dellani Oakes' The Ninja Tattoo is a great read, filled with thrilling intrigue and romance. The protagonist Teague runs into Vivica at a donut shop where he accidentally bangs her with the door. This serendipitous meeting draws them together in an instant and authentic heated attraction. When he leaves her to go to work at a landscape job, he is followed by several motorcyclists in what lends to a creeping chilling undertone that continues throughout the story. There are multiple themes; the fear that a gang mentality imposes on its prey; blossoming romantic love and developing trust; family love and support; and the karmic lessons of evil and its comeuppance. Teague is a likable character with ethics and real emotions that are refreshing to see in a male protagonist. Despite them none of his strong masculinity is lost, so believable is the writing. Teague, Vivian and the supporting cast made up of their two families meld together with building tension. Near the beginning Teague takes Vivica on a date in which she meets half his tight knit family at a family owned fish restaurant. When he arrives home later that night he senses people outside his home watching him, which proves accurate. From that point on in the story the tension of revenge, intrigue and fear grip the reader as he and Vivica become victims of one viscous twist after another making it hard to put the book down. Brilliantly intertwined into the story line are the PTSD flashbacks Teague experiences that are triggered by those after him. Scenes of lovemaking and Vivica getting him to talk, to open about his experiences, are interspersed to show the deepening of trust and love into this already heated passionate relationship. The rollercoaster ride of emotions doesn't let up taking the reader into one scary turn after another. No spoilers on how it ends. I enjoyed this authors writing, the crisp realistic dialogue, and the sexual scenes that were titillating but not overly descriptive. It was a really enjoyable read that grabbed my attention and held it from the beginning right up to the last page.

Fans of suspense who like a bit of romance to their stories with find much satisfaction while reading The Ninja Tattoo by Dellani Oakes. Both in and out of the bedroom the action is fast-paced with two likable characters drawn together through their mutual pain. Vivica comes from a family of violence. Her brother's gotten more and more out of control until he puts her life, and the man she loves, in danger through his constant need to control her. She's immediately drawn to Teague for his strength without being a bully, like her brother. Their relationship progresses at a rapid pace which leads to a lot of sexual interludes which almost overwhelms the storyline. In the heat of the battle against the out of the blue villains she's quite able to take care of herself which makes her Teague's equal. Teague wanted a quiet life after the war but soon becomes entangled with Vivica and her criminal brother and his gang. He's more than physically up to the challenge and I must say this made him a very delectable hero. The action sequences start immediately and never let up and it's this adrenaline rush that brings him and Vivica together. Along with Teague protecting Vivica came numerous relatives whose large numbers made it difficult to keep track of them all. Teague's war buddies also made an appearance which bogged down the story even more as they all tried to leave a lasting impression. With all these introductions it felt as though things were being set up for a series which further became a distraction as the story progressed and more characters stepped forward. On a whole this is an entertaining story that keeps your heart racing. From its battles to its breathless bedroom sequences The Ninja Tattoo offers something for everyone and shows great promise for the talented Dellani Oakes and a wish to read more from her.
