The Woman's Study Bible, NKJV - Receiving God's Truth for Balance, Hope, and Transformation - is a beautiful combination of a study bible and devotional bible. This bible features a floral printed cloth hardcover, full color graphic elements as well as an easy to read font. This well made bible is sure to become any woman's favorite bible. The bible comes with a hardcover presentation box, making it perfect for gift giving. For any reader who enjoys the New King James Version of the bible- this will be one bible that can stand the test of time with its study features, articles and devotionals themed for women. This bible is the perfect way to encourage bible reading. This solid, well made bible has a retail price of $79.99 which makes it a bit expensive. For those looking for a bible to last a lifetime, it will be a good investment or it would make a great gift. The price may be prohibitive for most readers. I would like to see this bible available in other versions as many modern readers may prefer a an NIV or NLT version. The NKJV is a traditional and trustworthy translation, but not as easy to understand subtle theological concepts for some readers who may be new to the bible. As a blogger for booklook bloggers I received a copy of this bible for the purpose of writing this review.
I love Bibles. Each one is so unique in the use and insight it provides. This one is no exception. This is a hard back Bible covered with a beautifully sewn layer of fabric with a floral pattern. The inside is designed to coordinate with the cover in use of the floral throughout and the lettering. This Bible contains the whole NKJV text as well as additional helps throughout for studying God's Word. I love the way it is designed for especially for women, relating passages of Scripture to women, and bringing to attention women from the Bible and how Jesus related to them, or what their assets were in the history of God's people, the ministry of Jesus, etc. Throughout you will find quotes - these are not scripture but correspond with the scripture and are thought provoking. For example: "I am only one; but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I an do something." - Helen Keller. At the bottom of each page, the verses are explained and on many pages there is quite a bit of additional information to be gathered and considered. Many topics of interest are discussed and covered in the side notes and small boxes of information recorded, some interesting ones included are Cosmetics, Eating Disorders, Pregnancy, Hair.... You get the picture. This is definitely a study Bible, as it was difficult for me to get through a chapter without stopping to read a portion here or there of explanation for that passage. But that made it very interesting also. The appendix contains various helpful sections, such as, a concordance, index, maps, measurement and money, etc... I believe a woman looking to delve deeper into God's Word and grow in her spiritual life will benefit from this Bible. It would make a very nice gift. I received my copy free from Book Look to read and review. I was not required to give a positive review and I am certainly looking forward to all the insight I will be gleaning from this Bible. All opinions provided are my own.
