About the Author

Although born and raised in the heart of London, Caroline has always had a yearning for hot, desolate, distant lands. She would escape the smartly dressed crowds and glitzy shops, to experience something more meaningful to her; to see, feel and taste different cultures of the world. Caroline's passion for history and archaeology, and of exploring ancient sights, leaves no doubt as to how her experiences have flowed so effortlessly and naturally into the core of her books. Caroline currently lives in America, but is always planning her next escape... and the setting for her next book.

This is a family adventure, with a dramatic backdrop, well written, fun interesting and at last something refreshing and different. The author develops the teens characters through the book, so the reader feels they know them very well by the end of it. Set in the desert on an archaeological dig, four teens from two different families get into big trouble while their archaeologist parents excavate an ancient queen's tomb. It held my attention throughout the book, as there was a lot of interesting things going on within the dig as well as what was happening to the kids. There is also an underlying story above and beyond the children's adventure, which I suspect, and hope, will continue through subsequent books, that will bring the two families together. A good read. And at last something different and interesting too. We as a family of young teens look forward to reading the sequel
