The Older Guy

by Rachel Hawthorne

Paperback(Mass Market Paperback)

From Kelly's journal:

Guess who scored a date with the hottest senior guy in school? Me! I can't believe it. My friends can't believe it. And if Michael knew my real age, he wouldn't be able to believe it. So I'm sure I did the right thing by telling him I was a junior and not a freshman. My friends think he and his crowd are way out of my league, but who can't handle a few senior parties? I totally can. Right?

I think this is pretty good book, only I don't think it's that outrageous for a senior to date a freshman. In the book Kelly lies to Michael because his was completely dissing 9th graders. The lie grows as she tries to see him without her parents finding out about Michael until she ends up at a Senior party and gets drunk. Will dear old Dad ever let her see Michael again, and if so, will Michael give her a second chance?
