The Ommagon Baby by Tom Fawell

The Ommagon Baby is the chronicle of the antics and emotions of his first son, in their first home, in their first neighborhood. The origin of the term, 'Ommagon', is also from the author's hometown. In the middle of this small community on Main Street was the village butcher shop operated by Mr. Whitman, a jovial gentleman of German heritage. Mr. Whitman had an interesting habit of tagging his variety of customers with a variety of descriptive names. Anyone who was big, looked rough, mean, tough, or any combination of these, was called, 'with no disrespect' an OMMAGON! In time this delicate habit of Mr. Whitman's crept into the village's culture and thus added this bit of humor to the community.
