The Other Sister is the sweeter edition of Kris Pearson’s The Wrong Sister. No swearing, less sex, but still plenty of flirting.
In this tender ‘second chances’ story of family relationships and long-time unrequited love, attraction simmers between Fiona and Christian when they met on the day he marries Jan, her beloved sister. The only way Fiona copes is by hiding on the far side of the world. The only way Christian copes is by leaving on business whenever she visits her family back home in New Zealand.
Five years later, Fiona has the heart-wrenching six-week assignment of caring for newly widowed Christian and his tiny daughter. Billionaire Christian would rather spend time with anyone except the tempting woman who reminds him so much of his cherished wife, but Fiona has leave from her cruise-liner job and seems determined to do her family duty.
Their mutual love and respect for Jan have held them apart. Will their lost love be given a second chance now they’re forced together again?
About the Author
New Zealander Kerri has been a spinner of stories since childhood. She worked first as a writer for radio, then in the wider advertising industry, and now devotes herself to romantic fiction. She enjoys sharing her beautiful country with the world, and creates stories full of real people in believable situations. Three of her many novels were finalists in New Zealand’s Clendon Award. Perhaps you already know her as Kris Pearson (her real name.) If your reading preference is clean language and to keep the bedroom door further closed, these new sweeter editions might be just what you’d enjoy. They're the same basic stories – fun and flirty. You’ll still know what’s going on, but your imagination will have to supply the details. Does that sound fair? So far the first five Wellington books have been re-written as the ‘Hearts around the Harbor’ series. If they sell well, then Kerri has a lot more work ahead of her. She’s a keen gardener, a Soroptimist, sometimes a painter, and co-ordinator of the local romance writers' meetings in her home city of Wellington, but she'll find time!

The Other Sister by Kerri Peach Hearts around the Harbor #5 I have enjoyed each one of Kerri Peach’s books in the Hearts around the Harbor series. They are definitely sweeter than the steamier versions but lose nothing in the telling. In this book Christian is recently widowed and the father of a toddler. He loved his wife when she was healthy and continued to love and care for her through the illness that took her life too soon. Fiona, his sister-in-law, has a bit over a month she has taken off from work and she plans to use this time to help Christian with Nicky, his daughter. Both fight their attraction to one another feeling it must be taboo and way too soon for either of them to be feeling anything but grief for the loss of Jan – her sister and his wife. The story is definitely worth reading and it made me think about how difficult it must have been for both Fiona and Christian – in oh so many ways. I liked them both and was glad they were able to find their HEA in spite of all the emotions they had to deal with. NOTE: This is a story that along with a romance also provides medical information about cancer that readers will hopefully learn from and take to heart. Thank you to the author for the copy of this book – This is my honest review. 4 Stars
