So refreshing to see a hero not cheat in these mc books. Brick is still a tough alpha male who protects his heroine without screwing everything in sight and professing his love at the same time.

Jenika Snow knocked it out of the park again. Brick so broken but alpha male all the way, makes you wish you were Darra

I Loved how Brick & Darra didn't play the "I can't be with you" crap. I really like the characters. I would have said 4 Stars but $4.99 for less then 100 pages of story is Crazy expensive. I had a gift card.

The part of the story where Darragh gets hurt is almost the same exact scene from Hard as Steel.

Okay I liked this book a lot better than the first one. I thought the first book rather boring but this book, while a bit short, had a much better female lead and the story just flowed better. I liked Darra, she was no wilting flower, after all she has been through she was still very strong, tough and confident. She didn't play any games and pretend she didn't want Brick when she really did, I hate that. She was confident enough and honest to admit the attraction was there and was willing to explore it. Brick...mysterous, sexy, hot and just plain oozed sex! Once again though the history between him and Trick was glossed over, which totally defeats the purpose now anyway since Trick was killed in book one. I was also rather disappointed that Brick didn't shift at all throughout the book, he kept referring to his bear but never shifted, aside from his claws making a brief apperance, we get nothing else. For Shifters their not really shifty... I also wonder how the human world came to know about them? SR
