I loved these books. First, because they are about more mature couples, 40+. Second, because they were established in their careers, smart, and funny. The couple's interactions are playful, fun, and you get to experience their quick wits. And, on top of all of that, they really LIKE each other. Mariah's mom and her friends were pretty funny. After the first book, I was rooting for Dr. Colombo and Georgia. There book was not my favorite of the three, but it was still good. I especially loved Mariah and Dan's last interaction. She was much nicer than I would have been, but it was good. This book proved the 40's are the new 20's, only better. I really enjoyed these books. They made me laugh, they made me smile. I highly recommend any book that leaves me feeling good with a smile on my face after the last page. I voluntarily read and reviewed each of the three books.

4.5 Stars! I read each of these stories separately as they were released and my rating is an average of the three - rounded up from 4.33 stars. Most all of the characters cross-over into each story, but they most assuredly stand-alone with their own HFN or HEA. Never is a Very Long Time - This first story sets the series up well and it is my absolute favorite of the three. I simply loved the H/h. The banter and romantic tension kept me riveted and finishing in nearly one sitting. Not only was the romance great, but the conflict within the story was frustratingly fun to read. Just a great story overall. Never Say Never - This is an older woman/younger man story with both over 40. Loved it! Ann is the parent of children who are the main characters in two of McDonald's novellas, Saving Santa and Kissing Kendra (Kissing Kendra being one of my favorites from this author.) Loved both the H/h and the story was witty, romantic and sexy with a beautiful HEA. Never a Dull Moment - This was my least favorite, but that's all on me. I just wasn't a big fan of the heroine and hadn't been throughout the series. It's definitely a subjective thing, because I believe many will love her character. The story line was fun and creative, if not a bit frenetically paced. A little more slapstick in it's humor when compared to the other books. Overall, it may not be my favorite of the three, but I enjoyed again reading in this world of matchmaking.

The Perfect Date Series is a book that includes three books by Donna McDonald…all in one place! I love the whole premise of the stories and love that I can read ‘em one right after the other. Book 1, Never Is A Very Long Time sets the tone of the series and is uplifting, funny, sometimes sad or downright murderous. At its heart it is a love story sorta/kinda mixed up with a coming of age story that happens maaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyybe a bit later in life than you’d normally think. Mariah Bates is the heroine and is smart, intelligent, beautiful, feisty and owns a matchmaking company. Her ex-husband tries to have her arrested for running an escort service! Enter Detective John Monroe… Really, read the story/series. You won’t be sorry. In Never Say Never, book 2 of the series, Ann Lynx meets up with a “younger” man, Cal, and hijinks ensue. Seriously, I laughed until my face hurt. Truly wonderful story, though, and both these characters learn a lot about themselves, and each other. In book 3, Never A Dull Moment is even funnier than book 2! The story is about Georgia, Mariah’s mother, and “Hollywood”, Brent is his name but Georgia never uses it. It is funny, sometimes frustrating (that’s Georgia’s fault; the author wrote her character perfectly!), warm, touching…and has characters surrounding these two that will make your day. It will often challenge any preconceptions you may have about older romances, snotty well-to-do people…and just plain living. All the stories are standalone however it is so much fun to read them all – and in this book, you can read them one after the other. I am really enjoying this series and highly recommend!
