Overview

The Pirate Ship Bed Trip by N. Jane Quackenbush, Christopher Epling

The Pirate Ship Bed Trip is a rhyming bedtime story about a young boy and his bunny as his bed turns into a pirate ship. After he meets his captain, they set a course using the stars for navigation. They sail past islands and over coral reefs where they encounter many marine animals. They drop anchor and row a small boat to a deserted island. They explore the shore and find hidden treasure. A squabble breaks out, and the main character is left behind by the sailors. When he feels hopeless, the captain comes to his rescue just in time for the child to awaken to his mother’s call.

As nighttime falls, James and his bunny set sail on his magical bed that turns into a swashbuckling pirate ship. Using ancient seafaring tools and celestial navigation, the captain sets a course for adventure. They travel across the seas and explore island shores, crusty caves and even find hidden treasure but James isn't the only one looking for riches. Aargh you ready to find out if James can hold on to his discovery or are you just a scared wee scallawag?
