Overview

The Pirate Wolf Trilogy by Marsha Canham

The trilogy starts with Across A Moonlit Sea, a high-seas adventure with Simon Dante, the Pirate Wolf, who meets his match in battle and in love when he crosses swords with the beautiful Isabeau Spence. Together they join forces with Sir Francis Drake on a daring raid to burn the Spanish port of Cadiz. In the Iron Rose, it is the Pirate Wolf's daughter, Juliet Dante, who commands her ship in battle and teaches a land-loving aristocrat how to seek the far edge of the horizon. The third book in the trilogy is The Following Sea, Gabriel Dante's story, full of romance, adventure, ghost ships and sunken treasure.

About the Author

Author of 16 Historical Romances and one contemp, my first book, China Rose, was published in 1984. Since then my historical romances have consistently appear on the USA Today list. I have been honored to be the recipient of multiple awards from Romantic Times, including 2 Lifetime Achievement awards, Storyteller of the Year, Medieval of the Year, Swashbuckler of the Year, as well as having been awarded one of a very few five star reviews handed out by Kathe Robin for The Blood of Roses. The Iron Rose was also named as one of the seven best Fiction books of the year by Publishers Weekly. A print author since the early 80's, it has been truly wonderful to be able to reissue my early books in digital format. Some, like China Rose, Bound by the Heart, and The Wind and the Sea, have not been available to readers for twenty five years. It was The Wind and the Sea, in fact, that inspired Romantic Times to create the category "Swashbuckler of the Year" and it won the very first award. I write the type of books that I love to read...full of action, drama, intrigue, and of course...romance. I am inspired by the old swashbuckling movies I grew up watching staring the likes of Errol Flynn, Clark Gable, Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Randolph Scott, Tyrone Power...bigger than life heroes matched with equally gutsy heroines. I write, in fact, as if there is a movie playing out in my mind and my hope is that readers enjoy what they *see* as much as I do.

This whole series was wonderful! The writer is very knowledgeable about history and is able to make it come alive with vivid descriptions. Don't get me wrong, her books while containing plenty of historical qualities, do not lack for steamy love scenes! Also, one of my favorite things with Mrs Canham's books, is that they are always of such long length! I really felt that she could have charged a whole lot more than she did, but was really glad she didn't! I've read 7 books by this author to date ( I only discovered her a couple weeks ago and her books are really long, and have had to be read in between working) and NONE have been a disappointment. I plan to read everything by this author and hope that she just keeps on writing more!! I have read 100+ books this year and by far rate this in the top 5! Love your work Mrs. Canham! Keep em comin!!!!

I love Marsha Canham books, and this one is no exception. The way she can make you fall in love with the characters, but also their children and the stories they embark on as well, without diminishing the quality is remarkable.

Loved this trilogy. Very well devloped plot and the characters were realistic. The only drawback was that several times there were chunks of the text blocked out and unreadable...even after I re-loaded it. I just hate that when this happens...especially during an exciting part of the story. All in all this was a great love story. Easy to read and follow. Relaxing and enticing. Would recommend.
