Overview

Trumpism – Symptom or Disease – Is there a cure?

Were attempts to overturn the election of 2020 no more than a brief break with democratic norms, or is the U.S.A. in for much worse in the future?

Can libertarian centrist policies get us out from under the yoke of minority rule? What? You don't think we live under minority rule in the United States? Consider this:

Since each state gets two Senators, Wyoming, with less than 700,000 people, is represented by the same number of Senators as California's nearly 40,000,000 residents. To put it another way, a citizen in Wyoming has 57 times as much representation in the U.S. Senate as does a citizen in California. And, as Mitch McConnell has made all of us painfully aware, he who controls the Senate gets to decide who sits on the Supreme Court. Over the past four years, a President who lost the popular vote by 3 million votes and a Senate representing a minority of U.S. citizens have installed three conservative Supreme Court justices. This is a power grab that will affect America for decades.

What does this mean for America? Have we ever truly had a government of the people, or is that just propaganda to keep us in denial?

Is the U.S.A. destined to become a third-world police state? Is the Alt-Right in the country's DNA? A birth defect that has been there since the nation's founding?

Why is our justice system so unjust? Why does there seem to be an ever-increasing number of policing organizations with an ever-increasing number of law enforcement officers? Could there be a correlation? What drives the continuing transformation of The United States Of America into The Police States Of America?

We need meaningful drug law reform now. We need to stop locking up people of color while radical right domestic terrorists get a slap on the wrist. We need to reform our criminal justice system. We could make most of our prisons obsolete by simply changing and eliminating the laws that have turned the USA into The Police States Of America.

Originally published in 2018, this book has even more relevance today. The statistics highlighted in the original version have not been updated. If anything, however, those numbers have only gotten worse. What will it take to improve? How do we stop our nation's descent into fascism? This short work attempts to answer these questions. It not only details how we got to where we are now, it offers a path to an equitable and just society. A society with true INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY FOR ALL!

Note from the author:

The Merriam-Webster definition of fascism is – a political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition. That sounds like a pretty good description of Trump's Presidency to me…

If you wish to make the U.S.A, or the world for that matter, a better place for your children and grandchildren, please read this book. Then, as John Lennon exhorted us so long ago, IMAGINE. If enough of us can imagine a better world, we can create it. If we cannot even imagine an equitable society with justice for all, then both democracy and our country are doomed.
