About the Author

Cynthia Woolf is the award winning and best-selling author of more than thirty historical western romance books and two short stories with more books on the way.

Cynthia loves writing and reading romance. Her first western romance Tame A Wild Heart, was inspired by the story her mother told her of meeting Cynthia's father on a ranch in Creede, Colorado. Although Tame A Wild Heart takes place in Creede that is the only similarity between the stories. Her father was a cowboy not a bounty hunter and her mother was a nursemaid (called a nanny now) not the ranch owner.

Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband Jim and her great critique partners for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.

I like that it is family friendly. It makes reference to the intimate details of love and marriage without being raunchy. I have yet to read one more book from this series and I must say I have enjoyed each. The author only became mildly distracted while writing this novel. Give it a try. Simone24

All of the previous characters of books 1,2 & 3 make appearances in the book. I enjoyed the storyline and cast of characters especially Robert and Katie's romance. All HEA ending to the books about friends and their wives/families. Great story. ****vrnb****

Ms. Woolf writes a very touching read on a mail order bride that is based on promise, lies, trust and overcoming issues along with danger. She shows how easy it is to forgive those we don’t really love and how hard it is to forgive those we truly care about. We hold them in higher regard expecting them to be better than all the rest. Katie has lost so much in a short time her latest lost is her stepfather who has left them nothing to help her take care of her brothers and sisters. With him being killed in the line of duty she is left lost and alone with nowhere to turn. Her friends said become a mail order bride…but she said what about the children I can’t leave them. No one will want to marry with someone else children. They come up with a plan she is a widow with children. That is all nice and well until the wedding night and he finds out she can’t be their mother. Oh what to do….. Robert has watched all his friends get married, have children and find love. He wants this for his self, they have had good luck maybe he will to. It isn’t long before he start questioning his new bride over ever word as he finds lies after lines he finds it hard to trust her. Really she only told one lie which left everything else falling in to place. It wouldn’t be so bad if it hasn’t been for the one woman he thought he loved told some major big lies. How can he trust his new bride, is she like his ex…what to do now that he married to her? Robert is torn between her lying and finding he will be her first. The children are dear and sweet so he doesn’t mind them living with them. Why lie? He just can’t understand this. Katie tells him over and over again she couldn’t leave her brother and sister behind and didn’t feel anyone would let her bring them with her if they knew the truth. He said admit you are wrong…I am right you are wrong. She said she did what she had to do and I would do it all over again. This becomes a very big issue between them and even more so when he get a visitor who demands a lot from him. The plot is full of surprise after surprise which keeps the story moving at a pretty fast pace. There is danger when someone from her past comes looking for her and what she has. They want it and want it now which puts the whole family in danger. It becomes life and death as they try to bring the person to justices. Her friend is full of surprises which is an about face and I thought a little off but it works well with the story. I thought Robert was bullhead and should have given in when she gave her reason. I am sure if he was in her shoes he would have done the same thing. The story does have a great plot some wonderful characters. I just fell in love with the children and the things that come out of their mouths. Robert was really a great guy who I adored but I still would have liked to shake him. Katie was just wonderful from start to finish. She took way more than I would have in her shoes. Be ready for a few BIG surprises that leave you with your mouth open. It was a great read that I really enjoyed.

I really like this series and glad to finally get Robert's story. Katie is left with her two young siblings after her step-father is killed. She needs to leave New York right away because they will have no where to live and no income. At the advice of a friend, she becomes a mail order bride. She lies and says the children belong to her. She is afraid her new husband will not accept them if he finds out they are her siblings. Robert immediately accepts this new family, but finds out things are not what they seems. Will he keep them or send them away? Then trouble comes to their door. Will he save Katie and the children or leave them to fend for themselves?
