The Princess in Pink: A True Tale by Samantha Michael

One day, a girl was severely injured in a car accident that should not have happened. But the driver of the car she was in broke the law. The accident nearly took her life and left her and her family with a deep sadness that they thought might never heal. Until, that is, the girl magically encountered a real-life princess whose gentle grace touched her soul and whose magic pen helped to heal the deepest kind of wound.

In The Princess in Pink, Samantha Michael shares the touching true story of the near-fatal car accident and her long, difficult recovery. With a touch of playful expression, Samantha narrates her emotional tale in language and themes that any child can understand. She shows her young readers that there is still magic in the world. How at any moment, a princess in pink may enter the room and with a warm smile and stroke of a magical pen, she can leave a mark to change your life forever.

Reviewed by Anne-Marie Reynolds for Readers' Favorite The Princess in Pink: A True Tale by Samantha Michael is a true story written in fairy story style. Samantha was horrifically injured when the car she was in was in an accident. The driver was drunk. Samantha tells the tale of her journey from the accident to recovery. She tells of when a princess in pink visited her at the hospital and signed her guest book. That princess was Princess Diana. Samantha forgot all about her when she left the hospital until years later when the princess was killed in a car accident – by what was reported to be a drunk driver.  Samantha Michaels tells the story of her recovery in simple plain English, in a slightly playful manner for children to understand. She tells her readers how to believe in magic, how to believe that their very own real-life princess is waiting to greet them with a wonderful smile. The Princess in Pink: A True Tale by Samantha Michael was a heart-warming tale. Having read the adult version of Samantha’s story, I can see what a wonderful job she has done in telling the same story for children. To really understand this, I believe that any reader must read both books to get a sense of where she is coming from. Amazingly well written, and I love the playful humorous touch she has added to the story. It kind of takes some of the bitterness away, the horror that can be caused by one person acting irresponsibly.
