The songs, the singing were breath-taking. I predict they are going to be the most popular group in the world! They have such a smooth, and wonderful range of vocal talents. Each one can hold you and together they transport you to a very special place when they sing ;)

Have been following them from the beginning, the overall improvement in their interaction with each other has been amazing. The promise is the best album yet. Amazing Grace & Hallelujah plus power of love make this an amazing album. The whole album was beautifully done. I would love to see them release another concert DVD.

These guys are great. I especially love their (Spanish) version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.

I just got to listen to the CD in full over Thanksgiving and it was the perfect setting for this CD. I really wasn't sure what to expect as I had only briefly heard of Il Divo as Simon Cowell's project. I was impressed by the rich voices (and let's face it - good looks on the cover). The CD is not something I would pop in while I'm getting ready for a night on the town - but is perfect if you are having a group over for dinner and would like some rich background music. The songs on the album that really stood out for me was Amazing Grace and La Promessa. The music is full of emotion and when you listen to the sound of their voices blend together it's really beautiful. This is really a CD to sit down, relax and enjoy a glass of wine too.

I found this easy to listen to. Great for dinner party music or just to relax at home alone

These guys are amazing! A must have for your music collection if only for Hallelujah and Amazing Grace! Adagio is great too. The rest is merely "Awesome!"

There is absolutely no doubt that these four fine gentlemen can sing. It is particularly enjoyable if you understand foreign languages, which I have the good fortune of being able to do. For those who speak english there is the amazing "Amazing Grace". I suggest that you lay back, close your eyes and let the rest of the songs take you away, I guarantee that Il Divo will take you on a journey.

I bought this (two of them) as gifts for two very dear friends. They have not stopped talking about how much they are enjoying this group. I, too, love their music.

Every track on this cd is beautiful. The standout however is Amazing Grace. I could listen to it over and over. First rate.

I really enjoyed listening the Il Divo's new CD "The Promise." The lush vocals were uplifitng and romantic. I particularly enjoyed their rendidtion of the song, "Amazing Grace." It sends a positive message that is welcome in these challenging times.

This was my first time hearing Il Divo, and I dove into ¿The Promise¿ CD headfirst, and with great expectations. Perhaps I set the bar too high, because I was sorely disappointed. The music is beautiful, but alarmingly soporific and tedious. The singers have wonderfully clear and resonant voices and take great care and precision in delivering every note perfectly, to the effect that the passion is never allowed to seep through. One of the few bright spots in this album was L¿Alba del Mondo, an Italian adaptation of Ennio Morricone¿s ¿I Knew I Loved You (Deborah¿s Theme).¿ The addition of some more familiar renditions, such as ¿Hallelujah¿ and ¿Amazing Grace¿ make it more bearable but are not enough to overcome the dreary, one-note atmosphere that plagues the album. I will check out Il Divo¿s previous works with optimism, but sadly, this is one promise that is never delivered.

A friend told me about this group and shared a clip from this CD. I bought it and listen to it everyday on my drive to and from work. I'm even beginning to learn some of the words! These men are absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend it!

This is my first Il Divo CD. The songs are rich and exotic. I would prefer more English songs, but The Winner Takes it All was quite enjoyable to me. I think that was my favorite.

I received this CD to review. While it is not my typical music I would chose to listen to, their voices are just beautiful. "Amazing Grace" was my personal favorite. I will pass this on to an opera loving friend.

This is the CD I have been waiting for. I am an Il Divo fan and this new CD, The Promise, did not disappoint! Amazing Grace brought tears to my eyes while the Power of Love just made me feel peaceful. I just recently lost my Grandfather last week and this CD helped me get through that really rough patch! I would recommend this Cd to anyone, young or old!

Prior to receiving this CD, I was only minimally aware of Il Divo, the princes of popera. I had seen them on television several times, and knew that they had amazing voices and harmonies. When I first listened to this, I was blown away. These songs truly showcase Il Divo's incredible harmonies. The instrumentals are expertly arranged. The melodies are deceptively simple, yet compelling. Each song is full of pleasant surprises in harmonies, melodies and dynamics. If you listen, and emerge yourself in the music, you will not only be interested, you will also be lost in the music. With the exception of Amazing Grace, the songs are in Spanish. Regardless if you understand the words, the music emotes the sentiment of the song in a way that makes it easy to understand the message of the music.

As a One2One Network participant, I received this CD in the mail to listen to and review. I currently own "Ancora," which I love slightly more than this album, but that's not to say that this CD isn't another slam dunk. Packed with emotion and sincerity, the name "Il Divo," (Italian for "Divine (Male)) says it all. As with any album, some songs are superior to others. My personal favorites include "Angelina," "Aleluya," and "Winner Takes It All." This album would make a perfect gift for that loved one who wants to dip their feet into contemporary "popera." I can almost guaruntee it will make a lasting impression on a female baby boomer in your life - I bought "Ancora" for my mom (age 55) as a Christmas gift last year and she fell in love with them. We now share a love for Il Divo, particularly Carlos!

This is the first time I have heard of this group and I was pleasantly surprised. I love hearing a good blend of bass and tenor voices and Il Divo delivered. They each have a gorgeous voice that gets even better in a tight harmony. My favorite songs are La Promesa, Hallelujah and Amazing Grace. I don't know that this will be a CD I listen to over and over but I did enjoy it. This will be a wonderful addition to my playlist favorites!

I had never heard of IL DIVO before hearing this CD. Most of their music is in either Spanish or Italian it sounds beautiful in any language they sing it in. Great music to unwind to and relax my favorite song was Amazing Grace it gave me goosebumps. They sing with such emotion and love

I won't claim to be an expert on Il Divo. I had not heard of them before getting this CD, but I'm glad to make their acquaintance. I'd describe them as somewhat of a cross between opera (think Pavarotti) and Josh Groban. The album contains songs you'll recognize (Amazing Grace, Adagio), and some that you won't, but they're all by turns soothing, stirring, and easy to listen to. I wondered about the Abba song on the album (The Winner Takes it All), but when I mentioned to my 9- and 11-year olds that a "Mamma Mia" song was playing, they said they didn't even recognize it. It just works. All songs are sung in Italian or Spanish, except for Amazing Grace. This is nice, because it allowed me to just drink in the beauty of the music without trying to concentrate on the words. Give "The Promise" a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
