About the Author

Linda Seed, a former journalist, lives in Cambria, California, with her husband, art writer John Seed, and their children. Linda’s romances, including the Main Street Merchants series and the Delaneys of Cambria series, are set on California’s Central Coast. Linda began writing novels early in life, authoring her first—a Breakfast Club–style saga of teenage angst—when she was seventeen. She came to the romance genre considerably later, deciding well into her forties that the world probably already had enough angst and needed stories of love and hope. Her debut novel, Moonstone Beach, was selected as a Barnes & Noble top pick. Linda is a former journalist with more than fifteen years experience at newspapers including the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Ventura County Star, and other publications.

The Promise of Lightning is part of The Delaneys of Cambria series. It is the story of Drew and Megan. This book revolves around the wedding of Julie, Drew’s half sister, and Colin Delaney, Drew’s cousin. While visiting California for the wedding, Drew falls for Megan, the girlfriend of his cousin, Liam. Liam has some issues but I ended up feeling very sorry for him. I am not sure Megan chose the best man at the end of the story. Without giving away any of the plot, I will just say Drew needs to grow up before Megan decides to take things to another level- which I think he began doing at the end of the book. Linda Seed writes in such a way that the characters come alive, which is why I felt so sorry for Liam and wanted to knock some sense into Drew. I sure hope Liam gets his own story soon. I received a review copy of the book free from the author, and I chose to review it.  I am truly enjoying this series, and highly recommend both books if you want to read something that you just can’t put down!

The Promise of Lightning by Linda Seed is book two in the The Delaneys of Cambria series. A Long Cool Rain, book one in these series was Colin Delaney and Julia McCray's story, book two is a about Julia's brother Drew McCray and Megan Scott. Megan is Liam Delaney's “girlfriend” but not for long. Somewhat disillusioned with Liam's bad attitude and the lack of chemistry between them, Megan has decided to breakup with Liam but she wants to wait until after Julia and Colin's marriage so not to upset their wedding. Drew is Julia's brother and he has had a very rocky relationship with the Delaney family and especially with Liam. Liam is offended by Drew's very existence because Drew is the illegitimate son of Redmond Delaney, Liam's favorite uncle. Liam and Redmond had a very special relationship and Liam is very jealous of Drew's connection to his Uncle Redmond. Therefore it is not surprising that Liam resents Drew being at the wedding and that he wants him gone. To make matters worse there are more than a few sparks growing between Megan and Drew. They are both draw to each other and when Liam finds out that, number one Megan wants to break off with him and number two that she has got a thing for Drew, the fur is really going to fly. Ms. Seed has without a doubt written a great book with an intriguing story-line and remarkable characters. I couldn't put this novel down until I finished reading the very last page. Ms. Seed's romantic novel is more that worth reading and I think you will enjoyed The Promise of Lightning, just as I did. I received this book from the author and I am freely posting this fair and balance review.

I very much enjoyed this book! The characters are realistic and you feel that you personally know them. I loved the decision processes and outcomes. Although they are stand alone books, I enjoyed visiting the characters that I met in book one as they have begun to feel like old friends. I received a review copy of this book free from the author and I chose to review it.
