Great book if you're trying to change your current unhealthy eating habits. I enjoyed the great looking healthy recipes.

The author writes about how the Mediterranean people have lived for hundreds of years, and how it has helped them remain healthier than we are.  He writes about how we can easily (and tastefully!) incorporate some of these ideas into our lives and reap some of the benefits. The book includes dozens of recipes, and they are grouped into sections on Breakfasts, Appetizers and Snacks, Soups and Salads, Entrees and even Desserts and Drinks.  Many look delicious, and most are very easy to follow.  I cannot wait to try some of these recipes!

So you want to start eating healthier but you still want to eat Italian, Greek, Spanish and Moroccan food, and you don't think you can do  both.  You certainly can  if you follow the fun and easy recipes in the Quick + Easy Mediterranean Diet Cookbook.  Appetizers,  main courses,  salads, smoothies, desserts - everything you need to keep your tummy satisfied while you make important changes to your diet.  Mangia!

The book stars with information on what foods are encouraged, and what to avoid. The health benefits that were listed are great. The cookbook is broken out into sections, such as breakfast, soups/salads, entrees – even deserts. The recipes all have very easy-to-follow steps. I made my husband the pork and turkey meatballs. He loved them, and it was great that it was healthy, too!

The Quick and Easy Mediterranean Diet Cookbook is all about food that is fresh, simply prepared and bursting with flavor. The recipes in this book are easy to understand, take little time to prepare and are made with ingredients that are proven to be better for one’s health and wellbeing.

The Quick and Easy Mediterranean Diet Cookbook by Rockridge Press is full of easy recipes that have good health as the priority rather than cyclic weight loss. These recipes use healthy oils, lots of anti-oxidants and are very flavorful.

One of my favorite parts of this book was reading the history of the Mediterranean since I am a History Alumni of UMass Boston. Fun fact-The Mediterranean Valley used to divide Europe, Asia, and Africa until it burst open and the Atlantic Ocean filled in the open area. A healthy lifestyle formed on the land, and it consisted of fresh fruits, vegetables, olive oil, cheeses, whole grains, fish, and other foods. Besides the recipes, I feel the most enjoyable part of this book was reading, in chapter two, ways to save money and time, for preparing meals.

If you've ever wanted to cook your own Mediterranean cuisine, or slim down, this is your book! I was impressed by how well the book is organized and by how quick and easy the recipes really are - money saving tips are also included. My preferred recipe I've tried so far is the Lamb Kofta. If you love Spanish/Greek/Italian food, you will want to try these recipes.

It’s so simple! I cannot wait to try the recipes. I would recommend this to anyone looking to spice up their home cooked meals. There's a lot of interesting tips that go along with the recipes, mostly explaining why it's good for you. Also, they allow you to drink wine! I'll try any diet that encourages wine!

Overall, I felt it was put together with much thought, and if someone is looking to make a lifestyle change towards healthy eating and living longer, this book is a great start. Also, it also gives a wide selection of recipes and it made sure to mention (previously to that), exercise and portions are key components. I quite enjoyed this book!!!

If you're attempting delicious healthy recipes for friends and family this book is an excellent resource. The cookbook gives you practical tips on how to save money on recipes as you learn the benefits of meal planning. The Mediterranean diet follows dietary habits for healthy living and eating better that consists of fresh fruits, protein and vegetables. I highly recommend this. Enjoy!

I absolutely loved this book! It’s refreshing to read a diet book that’s more about eating healthy, and not about shedding pounds. The Mediterranean diet comes from the eating habits of the European countries that border the Mediterranean Sea. If you’re an Italian food lover you’re in luck! One of those countries is Italy. Although it’s mentioned that by partaking in this diet you’ll most likely lose a little weight, that’s more of an added bonus. There are many other health advantages to the Mediterranean diet. By changing what you eat with the foods in the book, you’re nourishing your body well.  Included are 76 tasty recipes for breakfast, appetizers/snacks, soups/salads, entrees, and drinks/desserts. It explains the importance of meal planning, providing you with added tips. Sprinkled with interesting facts throughout, I’m doing you a favor by telling you to buy this book. What are you waiting for?

This book is a great introduction to a variety of Mediterranean cuisines and features a wide variety of healthy recipes that include a nice balance of fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, seafood and poultry. While Italian cuisine gets the most attention, there are also many recipes influenced by the cuisines of Greece, Spain Turkey and Morocco. As the book makes clear, it is far easier to create a diet that is influenced by healthy eating choices when a person has tasty, interesting recipes to work with.
