Lark, a Texan turned New York environmentalist, is called home when oil is found on her family ranch, only to butt heads with Wes, the neighboring rancher and CEO of the oil company contracted to drill.
Forced to accept Wes’s protection against a lunatic intent on harming her. Lark must reevaluate her feelings for her sensitive boyfriend back in New York, as she attempts to fight the powerful attraction she has for the overbearing Wes, and struggles to postpone the drilling or lose a huge environmental grant for her company.
Wes does everything in his power to keep the drilling on schedule or answer to his investors. Wes is intent on staying close to Lark, to keep her safe and claim her for himself.
Their differing views and Lark’s continued attempts to slow the drilling keep them in a constant battle of wits. Their undeniable attraction, Wes’ unyielding desire to have her, and their overwhelming sexual tension is about to cause a major blowout.
Will they survive the constant strife and danger to get what they both want in the midst of the Eagle Ford Shale Oil Boom?
