About the Author

Before Roy became a writer, he gained his National Diploma in Design at Waltham Forest Art College, now the University of East London, England. He also studied photography under the celebrated film director Ken Russell. Russell's influence still pervades Roy's photographic style. He continued his art/design studies with the Czech sculptor Franta Belsky and his wife Margaret, a noted cartoonist and illustrator. He then joined a London Advertising agency as graphic designer before moving towards magazine and newspaper journalism.
Whilst researching for a photographic book project, Castles of England and Wales and their builders, at the British Library, Roy came across the name of the 12th century Norman nobleman and engineer, Robert de Bellême and so began a fascinating journey around this character and the period in which he lived resulting in a series of historical novels; 'The RAVEN the LION and the WHITE DRAGON,' 'BELLÊME The Norman Warrior' and 'NEMESIS In Pursuit of Justice.'
Further novels in the Bellême series are planned.
