She is beautiful and capable, but, unfortunately, no match for a man who brutally attacks her and ruins her chances at finding a loving match. Allan Ridgefield, Earl of Ridgecrest, knows he will never find love again. He lost his childhood sweetheart when she fell from a horse and died just before they were to be wed. Now ten years later, he finds himself in need of a wife in order to keep his inheritance and fulfill the terms of his father’s will. During historical times, being attacked left the young lady with no choices. Even though the attack was not her fault, she was held to blame. Elizabeth’s father did not tell Allan what had happened. He knew Allan was desperate to marry or Allan would lose everything. Elizabeth was a warm and caring young lady. Her attack did leave her with problems but it did not take away from who she is. Allan could not help but find Elizabeth attractive as he became better acquainted with her. You need to read this book to find out what happens next. It is a beautiful story if a bit rough in parts. It is an extremely enjoyable tale about two people who are hurting and learn to love together. Pick up The Ravished Rose and read about one woman who rose above society and triumphed.
