In the early 1970's many people took the overland trail to India and Kathmandu, some went in search of enlightenment, others were looking for adventure but most of us went to get stoned. For many this was enough but for a few, like me, it opened up a world of possibilities. This was life before Lonely Planet, when Kabul was the place to go, Anjuna Beach was the place to meet and you could sleep on the top of Machu Picchu with only the condors for company. Walk with me through the Kulu Valley in the Himalayas in search of the finest charas on planet earth and join me in Arequipa and discover why Jimmy Page described my pink pescadores as "The best I've ever had man". I wasn't surprised, it was Frank's Sinatra's favourite too. I was a young dope smoking, music loving, small time dope smuggler and this is my story.
