Cady was raised in a women's commune by her marriage-scorning mother. When, at 15, Cady visits her wealthy architect father, her feminist, anti-materialist values are challenged by his affluent lifestyle. Then Cady's mother demonstrates against sexist hiring at her father's construction site, and Cady has to decide what she really believes in The Real World.
