I enjoyed the story and the chemistry between Kennedy and Ryan. Reading about  them over coming the negative beginning to help their son and start fresh. I would read more from this author

I absolutely loved this book. The story line was different and unexpected. Very enjoyable. At times I cried like a baby, my heart was breaking for Kennedy. She's a very strong woman who wouldn't stop fighting for what she loved the most. My heart actually ached for Riley. Ryan really surprised me stepping up the way he did. I really expected him to run. But this HEA was so heart warming. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

I’m looking forward to reading more by this author. Ryan Carville, star football player of Charleston High didn’t want to be a part of the United Tastes game. However, being a part of the team and keeping Clara the head cheerleader as his girlfriend were more important to him, even though this game left a sour taste in his mouth. He had to choose the ugliest or homeliest girl, invite her to the prom and take her virginity. She would be his prom sacrifice, and she would be the girl Clara picked out for him, and if he went along with her choice Clara promised to reward him. Kennedy Bailey was a loner, she stayed by herself and did not interact with her classmates. She was afraid that they would find out she shopped at the Salvation Army, and that they would mock her. So she was very surprised when Ryan Carville came up to her and sat at her table. She was even more surprised when he asked her out and then invited her to the prom. She didn’t know about their game, all she knew was Ryan Carville asked her to be his date for the prom. She didn’t know she would be his prom sacrifice. This was my first time reading a story by this author, and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the characters and the interaction between them. I also liked how the author humanized Ryan. Even though he participated in this game, she allowed you to see that he wasn’t a bad person, just a person trying to live up to the expectations of others. You could see the chemistry between Ryan and Kennedy, and when he found out that he left her with more than a broken heart the night of the prom, he was surprised. Matt, his best friend in high school and now his manager, at first came across as a jerk, but you soon saw that he wasn’t as bad as he appeared. The same can be said about Kennedy’s mom. The Rebel’s Own is a good book and one that I would recommend, and I’m looking forward to reading more by this author. -Reviewed by Darcell
