About the Author

Bourne Morris began writing at Bennington College where she studied under the late poet laureate, Howard Nemerov. After college, she worked at McCall’s Magazine and then went to Ogilvy & Mather, New York during the “Mad Men” era. David Ogilvy and his colleagues treated her wonderfully, promoted her several times and then sent her west to become head of their agency in Los Angeles. She had a splendid run in advertising. In 1983, she joined the University of Nevada Reno as a full professor in Journalism where she taught until 2009. She learned about campus politics when she served as chair of the faculty senate. She retired to write mysteries in 2009 after an equally wonderful teaching career.

I liked this book, however, I think I liked the other books in the series much better. The first part of the book took a while explaining about how large and lucrative the sex trade business is becoming. Which, for me, if you haven't watch CSI, SVU or most any other TV show, you would know about this. However, I guess the author was just reaching out to the ostriches who were not aware. After that, the story picks up and gets a little better. I have enjoyed this series so far, but this one while it finally did get pick up, I just wasn't a fan like I was with the others. It was still entertaining, but this author has written much better books. I haven't given up though. I'm sure she's got more on her plate coming and I'm looking for more adventures from the Red Queen now that there's a new surprise in her relationship. Thanks to Henery Press for approving my request and to Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest review.
