Meet Colm and Aiden, two male witches who continue to meet each other again life after life, always breaking up or being broken up before they die – until the next time. The concept may have been done before, but Stone pulls it off like a champ, with the boys being polar opposites of each other – fire and ice magic. The characters are interesting, the plot turns sufficiently, and Stone’s sense of humor is on point. Truly a grand start to the series.

Independent review for Divine Magazine, I was gifted my copy of this book. I loved the IDEA of this book. Imagine, living your life over and over but not remembering the one you love each time? Colm can't remember Aiden. But Aiden knows Colm, has done since the dawn of time when Colm's soul resided in a female. Aiden just need Colm to remember. As I said, I loved the idea of this story, loved that Aiden always left, loved that Colm decided her was going to leave this time. Of course, that didn't quite work but still. Some reviews talk of the humour, but I must have missed it, cos while it was amusing in places, I didn't find it laugh out loud funny. It it, in my opinion, almost clean. I've filed it on my YOUNG ADULT shelf, with a view to 16+ It is also single POV, told entirely from Colm's POV. But I found him a weak narrator and not very interesting in parts, and I think that even if Aiden had his say, in the first person, as Colm does, it would have bumped the rating up from me. There is a wonderful supporting cast of characters too, who could have had a say. I have Aiden and Colm's follow up story to read next. A good tale, which just fell a little bit short for me. 3.5 stars **same worded review will appear on Goodreads,,, Barnes and Noble and Divine Magazine**

Dan Stone's book The Rest of Our Lives came to my attention via an article about this book in the local gay newspaper. Upon reading I found this book a delight. I wonderful blend of erotic adventure, love story, and tale about spirituality. I really enjoyed reading this. I only hope that Mr. Stone continues to write.

The best word to describe Dan Stone's first novel is "fun". I usually don't read a book in one sitting, but this novel was so engrossingly entertaining and fun that I could not put it down until I finished. Also, I usually avoid fantasy or paranormal books like the plague, but another reader's comments piqued my interests and I'm glad that I put aside my fantasy-genre prejudice, at least temporarily, and bought this book. This endearing novel is about two polar-opposite witches. Colm, the sometimes clueless, reserved, elemental witch, with all too human foibles, is able to freeze time. Aidan, the quintessentially hot, red-blooded man with a fiery personality, is a well-practiced elemental witch capable of heating things up. When fire and ice meet, the adventures begin. Aidan teaches Colm how to use his gift, and the sparks immediately fly. Colm cannot resist the handsome, outgoing Aidan, and drops his guard and falls in love. The proverbial fly-in-the-ointment comes when Colm and Aidan find out from Aidan's intuitive aunt that the two of them have been finding, and falling in love with, each other for several millenniums, with Colm always left broken-hearted. Will Colm break the pattern of heartbreak by leaving Aidan for good, or will he believe in the power of love and magic that the two of them are truly soul mates? Will Colm follow his head or his heart? This is an exceptional first novel that had me literally laughing out loud. The love Colm and Aidan have for each other is palpable and heartwarming. The minor characters are eccentric and fit with the story perfectly. My only complaint is that the story kept me up to the early morning hours and deprived me of sleep! I'll be looking forward to reading this talented writer's next novel, and I hope I don't have to wait too long to do so. If you're looking for a fun, entertaining romance, you can't go wrong with The Rest of Our Lives. Therefore, I give The Rest of Our Lives my highest recommendation.
