About the Author

During the day, Nancee works as a counselor/nurse in the field of addiction to support her coffee and reading habit. Nights are spent writing paranormal and contemporary romances with a serrated edge. Authors are her rock stars, and she's been known to stalk a few for an autograph, but not in a scary, Stephen King way. Her husband swears her To-Be-Read list on her e-reader qualifies her as a certifiable book hoarder. Always looking to try something new, she dreams of being an extra in a Bollywood film, or a tattoo artist. (Her lack of rhythm and artistic ability may put a damper on both of these dreams.)

A contemporary romance from Nancee? Hell yeah! Sorry Angels... althought we can't see them, they do try to do their job. Dylan McAthie was a rock star who didn't know how to deal with fame. Rock stars never do. Unless they are driven toward the right direction. With family and friends. If not they would probably die or try a near death experience. That was what happened to Dylan. But he was lucky it was not his time to go. Young nurse Jennifer Adams, was hired to help him. His behavior hasn't changed so she bears the misplaced anger for all his misfortunes in life... I was amused with the two. Jennifer has issues of her own, not only rock stars have problems and has to deal too with being the preacher's daughter... Some addictions are replaced with another, they say. For Dylan alcohol and cigars... which prevent him to solve most of the misunderstandings. Not sure if it is a real ressurection, but I was captivated with his sweetness. I look forward to the next book in the series!

Dylan and Jennifer's story is emotionally volatile, to say the least. As they both learn to communicate with each other, Dylan finds a way to do the same with his brother. With Dylan making less than wise choices, and Jennifer not listening, will this couple ever make it? Just for the record, I don't like what papparazzi does to people.

I love angsty rock star romances and this one delivered in spades. I love reading about broken people who find their ways back to the light and this book delivers. I also really liked the fact that the main female character worked in healthcare so I was really able to relate to her

Dylan was once a young man who wanted to be a rock star. Now he's back home, after living that life. He needs time to heal in many different ways. Jennifer is a ministers daughter who has led a very strict life. She is hired to be Dylan's personal nurse. She was expecting the sweet boy she once knew but he is definitely not that boy anymore. Being a star really changed him, and not in a good way. Together, these two need to figure out who they are, what they want from life, and figure out why they are so attracted to each other. Can these two have a relationship even though they are complete opposites and leading different lives?

The Resurrection of Dylan McAffie starts with a rather unusual scene that pulls a reader in, and it doesn't stop there. This beautifully written, emotional tale and it's charming characters absolutely blew me away. Dylan and Jennifer are like oil and water, but at the same time, completely perfect for each other. Dylan is jaded, world-weary, and short-tempered, but there's a kind and caring man hiding behind his walls. I spent so much of this book alternating between wanting to hug this endearing, crazy man and wanting to shake him until his teeth rattled. Jennifer is young and innocent, and she often acts with the impetuousness of youth. This pair kept me laughing and shaking my head, and even when I felt like knocking their heads together, I couldn't help but root for their happy ending. Jaded rockstar and innocent preacher's daughter - what could possibly go wrong? As it turns out, quite a lot, and the emotions are all over the place. I laughed, I cried, I ooh'd and aah'd, and I laughed some more. This completely engaging story grabbed hold and didn't let go as I met the characters of Pine Bluff. Cain has created a town that feels like home and I can't wait to revisit this charming world.
