Description: This second edition of an atlas of vitreous, retina, and macula disorders includes access to a website with an ebook version and additional resources. The previous edition was published in 2010.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide a comprehensive and visually focused review of vitreoretinal disease. The focus on images makes it incredibly clinically useful, and a wonderful book for those in training. With the emphasis on illustrations, the presentation in print and online adds significant value.
Audience: This book is intended for many audiences, perhaps starting with early ophthalmology residents, fellows, and vitreoretinal surgeons and medical retina specialists.
Features: The book covers the full catalogue of vitreoretinal disease. The chapters on retinoschisis and retinal detachment are excellent, as are the chapters focusing on vascular disorders.
Assessment: This is an excellent, comprehensive review of vitreoretinal disease. I would recommend this book highly, and the changes in this update make this book superior to the previous edition.
