This book is an anthology of sonnets that were composed over an eleven year period and serves as a sort of primer for my forthcoming book, Gethsemane. The poetry contained in this book are both romantic and philosophical and provide heartfelt passages that stir the imagination. This particular edition is special in that it contains two new sonnets - Cara Graciosa and Homage, the latter that the author wrote to commemorate the passing of his father.

About the Author
What we know of him is what you see. R. Douglas Jacobs is the prodigal son of his namesake, or there, just about-a wise protector, indeed. One who reveals very little of himself since he's one who neither wants to bore, nor offend anyone. What can be said about him is that he's lived a quietly exemplary, yet modest life full of earnest intentions and heartrending setbacks. His flair for verse became a therapeutic tool for coping with the emotions attributed to these experiences. As a result, he evolved into a seasoned idealist of no political persuasion whose objective as a poet is to find perspective in a civilization run amuck so that his compositions may serve as a valuable lesson for future generations. He considers his body of work to be an exercise in tolerance. This book is a simple, yet rousing testament to this fact.
