Once again, RoseAnn DeFranco orchestrates a warm romantic tale that comes to life through her powerful talent with words. The Right Chord is a look at past mistakes, life path choices and second chances that almost breathes, it feels so realistic! Kit and Vince have a past, but time and miles put their lives on completely different paths, leaving painful memories, compounded by misunderstandings. Now a single father, Vince is no longer the brash young man he once was, but his self-confidence has been rocked when Kit returns to Audubon Springs, older, wiser, educated and holding their past up as a shield to protect her heart. Will these two be able to go beyond their past and trust their hearts long enough to find each other again? Will family and time become the wedge that keeps them apart? From page one, Ms. DeFranco sets up her stage, kicks in a little humor, a little background and plunges forward with rapid-fire dialogue that mirrors “life” perfectly. Two talented and attractive people with a chemistry that can’t be denied are dancing around feelings with the grace of a bull in a china shop, providing great entertainment one minute and just squeezing the blood right out of your heart the next. Ms. DeFranco is a master at adding just the right touch of conflict and roadblocks to add some fabulous side stories that never come close to muddying the waters of her romance, only making it more endearing and “human.” Her voice is strong, her tale flows perfectly with just enough chop and heat to make putting The Right Chord down nearly impossible. She makes romantic fiction come alive!

The best part of this book is how different it is to the other two. Vince is insecure, shy, and beat up from life. Don't feel sorry for him because he does have the Iuliano drop dead looks. He's Mr. August in the firefighter's calendar. And Ms. DeFranco paints the picture too well. The humor surrounding this picture is amusing, especially the way Vince tries to brush it off.  While reading an author's book I like to see the extras on their website. Ms. DeFranco has pictures of her visuals for Vince and Kit. It made Kit's personality shine for me. I knew exactly what she was like. I could see her wall she built around herself. Loved that extra on the website. It brought me closer to the characters.  Ms. DeFranco does an excellent job of giving just enough and then pulling back. There is a child in the story, but she doesn't hog the book. Abby adds a layer to Vince's personality that is touching. The calendar scene is poked at once or twice but not over done. And Kit's student, Trish Toda, sparks some jealous but nicely falls to the background. Dialogue is fast and cheeky. Very believable.
