Ann's hectic work responsibilities demand all her time and effort, and what was once a useful, satisfactory life has become a burden to carry. Her bakery partner Susan has lost none of her enthusiasm for their business, and Ann can't understand her exuberance, or her friend's Christian faith. So she trudges along, hiding her dissatisfaction from Susan, resigned to a life of work, sleep and problems.

Unexpected comments offered by two different people cause a crack in Ann's armor and her thoughts careen into unexpected directions. Attention from a young widower with a son challenges Ann's resolve to stay safe and uninvolved. Susan's example of faith through trial furthers Ann's curiosity about God. Ann must choose to step toward the unfamiliar freedom of giving and receiving love, or stay in the shadows, stuck in the grip of past hurts.

The characters in this book became so real that I felt like we were old friends. This book was sweet, spiritual, and immensely satisfying. I really enjoyed it.

This is a good story of a woman’s journey from lonesome to happiness. Ann is co-owner of a bakery shop with her friend Susan. She works long hours so she doesn’t have to deal with her dysfunctional life. One day Tom walks into shop to order a birthday cake for his son. After the death of his wife, he has walked away from God. As Ann and Tom relationship grows, so does their spiritual life, Togetherness may be something they both will find after all. A good hearted book that will make the reader get a clear picture of how God works in your life.

Ann and Susan have a successful bakery, but there is something missing. Ann works all day, then goes home to an empty apartment, repeating the same dreary cycle day after day. Ann's sheltered life expands when she begins to realize there's love all around. However, she must overcome her long-standing insecurities to grasp fulfillment. The main ingredient is God's love, which leads to solidifying a sweet relationship. Finally, Ann breaks through a wall of misunderstand to deepen ties with her parents and sisters. The plot develops naturally, pushed along with some unusual twists and turns, to the final happily ever after. Want to feel good? Read this book!

I truly enjoyed this story of Ann and Tom. It was true to life, made me laugh and cry, and at times, want to pull my own hair. The characters are so real I kept saying this could be my sister...or me. It is definitely a great start for this debut author.

The Right Ingredients is a charming Christian romance. Ann has discovered she needs a new direction in her life-one that follows her own dreams rather than the dreams of others. She meets Tom, a widower farmer, and together they search for their path  towards love and a spiritual home. Along their journey we meet Jesse, Tom's adorable four year old son, Susan, whose heart and faith are big enough to forgive her attacker, and the regulars at Sue-Ann's Organic Cake Factory. This is a delightful read.
