Cloaked in shadow, this Immortal sect controls the major powers of the world - from business and finance to science and politics - all manipulated for personal gain and to keep their existence concealed.

So you go to a favorite nightspot and you bump into a group of people who seem to be bright and engaging. You hit it off with these people and you invite them home for a dinner party. You hope the people you've invited into your home and your life will be worth the effort. That's how I look at books and the characters who inhabit them. Will they measure up to the jacket blurbs? Will they be interesting, or will they be crashing bores who I will soon give the bum's rush out the door? All I can say is after reading Mima's book "The Rock Star of Vampires" is her characters, richly drawn and passionate, were perfect guests. They - Ava, Landon, Mariah, Matthew, Derrick and several others - were completely captivating. When I finished the book, I actually felt a sharp pang of regret, an emotion I don't often feel if I make it to the last page. I wanted more time with these bloodsuckers and I was sorry to see them leave. But I found solace in the discovery there are other titles by this very gifted writer still to read.
