One of the true classics of American literature, Peter Newell's "The Rocket Book," has stirred the imagination of young and old alike for over four generations. Originally published in 1912 by Harper & Brothers, New York, it was the first children's book of its kind, a book about a rocket's incredible journey, floor by floor, through a 21-floor New York apartment. This lavishly produced facsimile of the rare first edition of the Rocket Book by JANES Works Company contains all 22 of Peter Newell's watercolors and the colorful pictorial binding that make the 100th Anniversary Edition of The Rocket Book so special and enduring.

I think this is a wonderful book. I love it, and the illustrations are beautiful, too. There's an innocence to this book. I think it would be great for parents to read this book to their children or for teachers to put in their personal classroom library. Students would love having a book like this one read to them.
