From the author of Married to a Rogue comes a Regency romance celebrating the witty and romantic world that fans of Georgette Heyer have fallen in love with.

Lady May von Hoffen has been plagued all her prim young life by the scandalous behavior of her widowed mother and the licentious men she consorts with. When she finally finds herself free of her mother and in sole possession of Lark House, she relishes the sense of decorum and freedom it gives her. But the surprise discovery of the injured Frenchman Etienne hiding on her estatethe man who once rescued her from an attack on her virtue and the only man shes ever been able to trustturns her newly peaceful solitude into a maelstrom of bewildering thoughts and disturbingly passionate curiosity.

Etienne is a self-avowed rake, and even now is on the run from ruthless adversaries who accuse him of trying to murder a marquess and seduce his wife. Following a stabbing that nearly claimed his life, he finds sanctuary on the land of an unfamiliar estate, hoping to recover and evade capture. But when the lady of the house turns out to be none other than the lovely and innocent Lady May, his feels his heart stir even as his body is gripped by pain and the fear that she will renounce him.

As May nurses Etienne back to health and learns the truth of his supposed crimes, along with a much-needed education on the relations between men and women, a burning desire smolders between the two opposites, and soon they will be forced to trust each other and their feelings in order to save one life and two hearts.

I really enjoyed The Rogue's Folly. It was a delightfully sweet read, with a few thrills and secrets along the way, and I really liked it. May was a great character. She started out being somewhat judgmental, after seeing her mother destroy her reputation and ruin May's childhood because she had no sense of self control. But, as the book went on and she realized that things weren't as black and white as she believed, she became a much better character. And, overall, she was strong, kind, and I thought she was likable. Etienne was good as well. Like May, he had his flaws. He had allowed someone else's bad advice ruin his life, but he was truly trying to fix his mistake. I thought he was very sweet and I liked him as well. The romance was lovely. May and Etienne already had a connection, after Etienne saved her from a terrible fate, and, as they got to know each other, that connection deepened into something more. They were a very sweet couple. The plot moved quickly and kept me engaged all the way through. There were a few thrills along the way as Etienne tried to outrun the people who were after him. I really liked the story and the ending was perfect. The Rogue's Folly was really a lovely romance. It was an enjoyable read that I liked. Romance lovers, this is a book you'll want to check out. *I received a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review
