Wow I seriously can’t believe this Nurin and Finn’s stories are over. Honestly this whole series, which I’ve read from the beginning is such an amazingly crafted story I am definitely going to miss it. We left off with Nurin being attacked and bitten by a zombie to prove a point. Now Nurin, Finn, a team of Firsts, Finn’s team, and the Order are heading to the East. Finn is still trying to take care of the only thing that matters or will ever matter; Ren. Nurrin doesn’t have a choice but to follow the orders of the black Priest Omar after what he’s done to her, but that doesn’t mean she has to like it. Together the venture into the untenured East to find the truth about what happened in Atlanta all those years ago. Instead of finding thousands of the dead (which they do find), the find something so profound it changes everything. A possible cure, family, and a future. Oh my goodness I wouldn’t get enough of this story. I read it in one sitting and it was absolutely amazing. I don’t do zombie books often because they really aren’t my thing, but I really enjoyed this story. Nurrin and Finn’s relationship has become more and more complicated. Finn wants Ren, would do anything and has done everything he could to keep her safe. Finn has a lot of secrets, but a lot of them come out in this final story, not all because that wouldn’t be Finn, but enough so we understand him more. Finn is so not the man/boy we met in the first book. He doesn’t want to fight anymore and just wants the whole fight to be over so he can have Nurrin. It’s definitely an amazing transformation from the cold calculating Finn we get in the first couple books to the Finn who runs by reputation but just wants Nurrin happy. Ren has definitely grown too. Where she used to doubt Finn, now she trusts him fully. She is more confident and stronger in this final book than I’ve ever seen her and I just loved her character. I loved this series and while I’m sad to see it go I think it ended beautifully. Nazrea Andrews is an amazing and talented author and continues to wow me. I received a copy of this amazing story for an honest review.
