From the author/illustrator of Too Many Carrots comes a rollicking ready-for-baby story-complete with chickens, pigs, and a very angry bull! A perfect springtime read-aloud!
Chick is getting a new baby brother . . . and he does NOT understand what all the fuss is about. What is so exciting about an egg that just sits there? Well, it turns out this egg doesn’t “just sit there”—it cracks, two little legs pop out, and it sprints away! Oh, brother! Chick immediately finds himself on a madcap chase through the barnyard as he attempts to protect the legged egg from danger.
Narrow misses and hilarious scrapes make this story of brotherly love a truly dynamic read-aloud.

About the Author
KATY HUDSON (Too Many Carrots) was raised in Middlesbrough, England, and started her illustration career as a small child drawing on freshly painted walls around the house! Her parents quickly encouraged drawing with pencil and paper instead. Katy took to the medium (the pencil was updated to an ink pot and pen in some cases), and after some lovely time at art college and a degree in illustration, Katy is now a freelance illustrator working at a desk in an old London library. Visit her on the Web at katyhudson.co.uk.
