Most Helpful Customer Reviews
I waited five long years for this author to complete her interviews, field research, and then compile the best stories, statistics, practical advice and new knowledge of what grandparents who have become parents late in life need to know. I was not disappointed. In fact, I recommend this book for all grandparents, those raising their grandchildren and those not, in order to fully understand the legal and social battles grandparents must fight on behalf of themselves and their two generations of children. Moreover, we must develop compassion for families facing tough choices across generations while they deal with their loss and grief, adaptation to generational differences, and just finding honest communication styles. Never before has one author called for true authentic, non-judgmental review of today's families and reminds us to ask ourselves how can we help or contribute. The book is well-done, easy to read, and I highly recommend it.
