About the Author

As the daughter of a career librarian I grew up loving books; 'Patience& Fortitude' at the NYPL are still my heroes. Beginning in the genre of historical romance with, "The Heart of a Legend," I moved into the YA world where my first team from The Angel Chronicles has been extremely loved. Now, moving into the action/adventure world with Tallent & Lowery, I have been very lucky that this new 'team' has gotten such an amazing fan base with their debut in "13."

Working as an editor in the publishing industry for decades, I am now the Owner/Operator of The Write Companion (www.thewritecompanion.com) which offers full services to authors. Being a contributor to Suspense Magazine and various other literary publications, I have been honored to meet and greet new authors, as well as the 'old favorites'-which I hope one day to become.

Lignor jumps right into the action from the very beginning of the story.  She mixes religion, myth, symbolism, and the everyday together to create a suspenseful yet intelligent storyline.  I appreciate how Lignor gives background information on the previous novel in the series and on the characters’ histories.  There is enough for someone to start reading the series here but not so much recap as to bore those who have read it.   Lignor employs extremely visual and captivating descriptions that leave an imprint in your mind.  The symbolism worked into this novel is also astounding.  It not only creates a picture for the audience but also helps to further the storyline, giving you hints and insights into the future.   I really appreciate the strong female lead in this story.  She doesn’t take a backseat to others but at the same time doesn’t feel the need to do everything on her own.  The two lead characters actually play the perfect counterpoint to each other.  They complement and balance each other.  Based on their interactions with each other you can really see how and why they fit together so well. Lignor continues to develop the characters that we met in the first Tallent & Lowery novel.  We now know them on multiple levels.  She also introduces new characters who are quite well developed.  The realistic interactions between the characters not only serve to add an extra element of realism to this story but also to give you more insight into the various characters and their relationships with each other.  It leads to a very well rounded cast.   I love the wide variety of character types that you come across in this novel.  No two are alike yet you can see the intricacies of their relationships. Overall, this novel is intellectually stimulating and creatively brilliant.  I would easily recommend it to all.   Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The Sapphire Storm is the second action packed adventure for Leah Tallent and Gareth Lowery. It starts off with the couple heading into the lion’s den...her parents’ house for Christmas. But they have to cut the visit short (much to Leah's joy) and delve into more historical mysteries when Gareth's sister calls needing their assistance to help find her fiancé who has been missing for several days. The Sapphire Storm is Indiana Jones meets The DaVinci Code with the perfect blend of history and modern adventure. Throw in splashes of snarky humor from Leah and it's a gripping read. Amy Lignor continues her extensive world building with Leah learning more about her own family line and the secrets that they protect while hinting at even more secrets for the couple to discover. It ends with a bit of a cliff-hanger that sends the couple winging their way into their next adventure in book 3, The Hero's Companion and I'm looking forward to seeing what's next for them. Have you joined the adventure?

The dynamic duo is back and better than ever in “The Sapphire Storm”! After enduring a long journey that ended in them going up against a man who believed he was a Devil you wouldn’t think anything could scare the charismatic Gareth Lowery. However, in this newest installment he will be faced with an even greater challenge, meeting the parents. The banter between Leah and Gareth never ceases to amaze me and I highly enjoyed seeing him handle Leah’s parents. Leah had her hands full dealing with Gareth and was as sarcastic as ever. I loved this duo and was ecstatic to see how they handled this newest challenge. There was of course plenty action and enough mystery to keep me satisfied, especially when we find out about the trouble Gareth’s sister has come up against. I was also very glad to find out a bit more about Leah. The new arrival that seems to have a lot in common with Leah definitely made things interesting. With a new mystery to solve and loves ones lives at stake this thrilling new story was every bit as gripping as the first if not more so. I would highly recommend the story of this amazing duo to all those who love a great mystery and some thrilling action!
