I was really looking forward to reading this book, but once i bought it and opened it up to read it, the pages were blank! I've tried everything to get it to work but its not. I dont know if it is a Barnes&Noble problem or if its the publishers fault. Just be careful when buying this book so the same doesnt happen to you. -Kayla

This is one of those books you get lost in and don't want to end. I spent many nights going to bed much later than I was planning because I could not stop reading!! I am not usually a reader of YA (being 36), but this book was fantastic and I am glad I took the time to get absorbed into it. The characters, the story line, the imagination was just fantastic. I can't wait for the sequel! I highly recommend this book - you will NOT be disappointed with this book.

The scourge is a fantastic book! I could not put it down. I found myself wrapped up in the mystery behind the behavior of the characters. I was pleasantly surprised to find out why relationships of individuals and the community were the way they were. The heroine is inspiring the way she bravely faces very frightening situations and does not let her disability prevent her from helping her community and family. My 9yo will be reading it next. I know he’ll be inspired also. I would highly recommend this book to friends and family of all ages.

I really enjoyed this book! It was very well written and descriptive. The author paints a great picture. The story has many twists and turns, plenty of suspense, and a strong heroine as the central character. If you enjoyed the Hunger Games series and/or the Twilight series, I think you should give this book a try because you will most likely enjoy it!

Very good post apocalyptic book where a young girl has to question her own beliefs, fears, and trusts in order to save her friends and family. What she learns is indeed surprising and originally told. This book is definitely worth the read.

The good first - the Reveal was an interesting twist and I liked the world setup Th bad - most everything else. Suspension of disbelief is impossible to maintain (even though the scourge come regularly, no one ever builds a pump to the caves?!?) The style swings wildly back and forth between annoying YA "romance" nonsense, to racial/political issues, interspersed with random Buck Rogers serial adventure deus ex escapes when the author has painted the characters in corner . In th end, i think there is a good book in here somewhere, thus just isn't it.
