Overview

WARNING: This book contains pretty much every dark theme there is. Not recommended for those with any triggers or sensitivities to violence, dubious and/or absent consent, and deviant sexual acts.

Keaton Mara ran away from a life that had become a nightmare to live on the streets. While the location she now calls home is a dangerous place, she is protected by an unlikely friendship.

The streets provided her with the education she could've never earned from the prestigious university she attended. Regrettably, the term 'educated fool' becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Due to meeting a man with whom she shares a captivating chemistry with, her judgement is clouded, resulting in a fateful decision.

The consequence of trusting the prepossessing stranger results in her being stolen away to a place unknown. Her deceptive new surroundings are just as beautiful as the people who reside there. She discovers that it's a place where the culture of sex without limits or morals is their religion.

Keaton quickly begins to realize that the beautiful scenery serves to hide a very dark truth. The seductive and enigmatic man--who lured her there--desires to save her soul. His intentions are sinister, because saving her soul is synonymous with breaking her.
Because Keaton believes her soul was brutally stolen from her many years ago, she thinks he can't save (or destroy) something she no longer has.

She...was...wrong.

I don't even know how to describe this book. It was, quite possibly, the darkest, most twisted, crazy, sick book I have ever read. I am quite certain now that I have finished it, I will turn around and reread it, looking for things I missed in my first run. I rarely read books twice and only once have I ever gone back and read a book again, immediately. If dark, twisted books with bondage, domination, submission, sex, twists, turns, torture and very dark souls interests you... this book is a must have. If you can handle the rest of it and want a book you will never figure out the ending to, I strongly recommend this book. I rarely review books I have purchased but I am still reeling from this book and really want to recommend it just for the puzzle that doesn't click into place until the author spoon feeds it to you at the end. I am rarely as confused about a book as I am this one. I usually either like, love or hate a book. I rarely feel all three at once. I'm going to reread the book and look for the clues that were in it to determine if there were enough of them for me to have figured this out if I had been paying attention to all of the tiny details. Seriously, this is one of those books that once you start, you will be up all night reading. I've said enough, I'm not going to give a detailed description of the book. I hate that. I hope my review either intrigues you enough to grab it or warns anyone who would be triggered by the violence etc. to stay far away from it. This book is full of triggers. However, with that said, it is quite possibly one of those books that will stay with you for the rest of your life. I think I loved it!

Just wow! Idon't usually read "dark" books but I found this one intriguing and while parts of it were hard to read it was equally hard to put down. The characters and story were well drawn and unique. I look forward to reading more by this author Bev N
