Overview

The Serpent's Shadow (Kane Chronicles Series #3) by Rick Riordan

When young magicians Carter and Sadie Kane learned how to follow the path of the Ancient Egyptian gods, they knew they would have to play an important role in restoring Ma’at—order—to the world. What they didn’t know is how chaotic the world would become. The Chaos snake Apophis is loose and threatening to destroy the earth in three days’ time. The magicians are divided. The gods are disappearing, and those who remain are weak. Walt, one of Carter and Sadie’s most gifted initiates, is doomed and can already feel his life force ebbing. Zia is too busy babysitting the senile sun god, Ra, to be of much help. What are a couple of teenagers and a handful of young trainees to do?

There is possibly one way to stop Apophis, but it is so difficult that it might cost Carter and Sadie their lives, if it even works at all. It involves trusting the ghost of a psychopathic magician not to betray them, or worse, kill them. They’d have to be crazy to try it. Well, call them crazy.

With hilarious asides, memorable monsters, and an ever-changing crew of friends and foes, the excitement never lets up in The Serpent’s Shadow, a thoroughly entertaining and satisfying conclusion to the Kane Chronicles.

If you like fantasy, action, humor, and suspense, this is the perfect book. It has all these traits, plus short descriptions, so you don't have to read a whole paragraph of desccription.

I love all you people who love Rick Riordans books. I can only say how much appreciation and hard work will go to that book and enjoyment from people all around the world. I will also prefer a trilogies from the author, S. Collins like " the hunger games" and ect. Furthermore i cant wait for the last book of Rick Riordans, Kane Chronicles Trilogy. Keep on reading and hope you will enjoy the book as much as i probally will.

I haven't read this book yet but I really liked "Red Pyramid" and "Throne of Fire" so I guarantee that I and any other lover of Rick Riordan will like "Serpent's Shadow" as much as I liked the first two books in the " Kane Chronicles" sereis. (I rated this book five stars becauseof what I think of the two pevious books in the sereis not this one.)

Well, a couple of days ago, when i was on Riordan's blogon his website I went to the part where people asked questions. So,someone asked if he was going to cross The Heroes of Olympus with The Kane Chronicles, and Riordan replied that that idea could happen but it would be far in the future. He said, it would have to be after he finished the Norse series and the Heroes of Olympus series. He said he couls also make a new Kane adventure or a new adventure about camp half-blood but these series would also be far down the road. That being said, it is not impossible thay he could continue with the

Well, let me just start by saying this was an awesome book!! Lots of secrets will be revealed and new characters are introduced. There is a lot of humorous and action packed adventures in this book that you will surely like. Also, I just wanted to point out that two characters in this book who are intoduced as some human friends are from the Lost Hero if you read it. If you did read the Lost Hero, you should know that these human friends aren't your normal human ( I won't reveal these two characters to you but I will tell you that they AREN'T main characters) Hope this review was helpful in any way.

The Serpant's Shadow is a great read. This book is actually really thick (to some people). It is over 350 pages! I still loved it and read it in two days... nonstop. My Social Studies teacher even asked me if was a good book. The answer is YES! After I read the Nook book, I went and bought the hardback cover one. It came out yesterday, so there IS NOT a paper back version yet. Thank you so much Rick Riordan for making these top-of-the-chart books all the time! Thanks! C

Just kidding but wait. I just pre-ordered this book at 9:25 p.m. on the 15th of April. I can not wait to read what Carter and Sadie do next in this action packed book. I have high hopes for Riordion's next book. You have to buy this. Really. If you haven't read the first book, The Red Pyrimid and the second book, The Throne of Fire, get a sample and see how you like it. I bet you that you will like it. Got no more time so bye! Last reminder, you should get the book!

I have always loved Rick Riordan's books, and this is one of my favorites. This action pack conclusion to the much loved Kane Chronicles will satisfy any reader. It will leave you on edge of your seat from open to close. I bought this book, and it soared from any exception I had for it.

Rick Riordan has done all the expected in the final book of the Kane Chronicles. The perfect mix of combat, suspence, and appropriate romance are smoothed into the intricate sculpture of this novel. You are left guessing, sometimes correctly, about the comming events as the pages seem to turn themselves. All Riordan fans will enjoy this tantalizing novel.

I had problems opening this book after I preordered. What you have to do is archive the book and then unarchive it and it should work.

To all people in the Universe of Nooks. Review pages are for REVIEWS! Not for saying I need sex or party at disco result 1! I am getting sick of hearing people do this. There are practically countless ways of chatting. Facebook, twitter, skype, ichat, FACE TO FACE... and so on! I don't like seeing people trying to hook up on review columns. If you don't have any friends, try out for a sports team, or go to a park. Don't get me wrong. I am eleven years old and know what goes on out in the world. I've seen girls my age saying some REAL bad things on the review pages. I REALLY dislike it when people tell random people what they look like and where you live. They could find you and KILL you. It's like going up to some random person and giving everything about you to them. Do you really want to live that life? I just would like to see if there are good books out there. Not if you have brown hair. Since I'm against no reviews, here's mine: I liked the book. Drew would have been beter off with a bigger part. She was a really good character.

The Serpant's Shadow is prehaps the best book in the Kane Chronicles series. It is abundant in nail-biting adventure and chock full of suspenseful scenes. My fingers were glued to its pages and I didn't put it down until I had read the last word. There is no possible way you will get bored and the storyline isn't interupted or halted and it isn't overloaded with description. A humorous, enjoyable, yet easy read, it is guaranteed to excite and surprise the Kane Chronicles readers. Another Rick Riordan masterpiece. I loved every second of it and wouldn't mind reading it again, which is saying a lot because honestly I rarely am able to read a book twice. My favorite part was the very end and what had happened after all the events (I won't say more because I don't want to spoil what happens). My favorite characters were...it is so hard to choose. Probably Bast or Sadie or Carter or...I can't decide. I hope you all find some way to read it and enjoy as much as I did. AEVK

Drew and lacy (from page 63ish of serpents shadow) went to a. summer camp together, where drew was"just as tyranical". In the lost hero drew bosses eveyone in the aphrodite cabin (lncluding someone named lacy). So in a way the series have already started to cross. If you haven't read the heroes of olympus, but have read the kane chronicles you need to read heroes of olympus (make sure to have read percy jacksoon though).

I read the whole series of the Kane Chronicles and learned, but loved each book! I learned about the Egyptian sorts of things that make Rick Riordan's books, his style. You can learn gods and goddesses, words in heiroglyphics, spells, and parts of the soul throughout the dangerous challenges for 2 magicians, Sadie and Carter Kane. They try to survive through Doomsday with out anybody but Sadie's cat who turns out to b eth ecat goddess, Bast. They send for recruits and get many magicians. They start to train them, but something bad always goe sweong with the Kanes. Sadie starts to fall for arecrit named Walt Stone and the god of death and funerals, Anubis while Carter falls for a replica of Zia Rashid, but when they find the real Zia, she doesn't feel the same way. They practice magic at the Bouston House while their Uncle Amos is the new Cheif-Lector at the First Nome.

This book is another master piece by an amazing writer. I don't think any other author could write such an amazing book. Rick Riordan wrote a book that can play with the readers emotions, has a bunch of action, and is going to be a favorite for a long time. If you are looking for an amazing book then I highly recommend this book. *However you might want to read the series from start to finish* I hope you enjoy this book just as much as I did. If it was possible i would give this WAY MORE than a 5 star rating . :) ~Kris10 Reviews
