Review: The Silver Crescent by Debby Grahl is four stars fun, romance, and trickery. If you’re looking for a fun, lighthearted read, The Silver Crescent by Debby Grahl is the book for you. Opening with a scene of betrayal and murder from the late 1800s, soon Elise, the great-great-great grandniece of one of those killed, and Max, the owner of the Victorian home where the killing took place, are on a treasure hunt to find missing silver. How Elise and Max found themselves in this small town a half an hour from Ann Arbor? Well that's another story! In addition to the treasure, they might find some romance too - and they do have a few fun sidekicks to lighten the mood anytime it gets too heavy. Oh, and did I mention the ghosts?! Yes, even with the murder this is a sweet, fun book and the first that I’ve read by author Debby Grahl. If at times, I wanted to shake Max, I know that my reaction was not out of place as both Elise and Kathy did too. I have a feeling he will go through life oblivious to the actions of others, which is okay as long as he listens to wise counsel. But what man does?! The ghosts were wonderfully fun, even the bad’un and Debby Grahl kept the pages turning with a wonderfully paced novel. In some ways, I felt like it was a grown up Nancy Drew novel, which is a perfect read for someone like me who was addicted to those stories. However, Nancy never had the HOT romantic encounters that Grahl depicts, so don’t expect this story to be tame. There’s romance, intrigue, ghosts, hidden treasure, and fun secondary characters. Just a perfect light read for a cold winter’s night. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author and hope that some of her future stories will be set in the Low Country where she resides. The Silver Crescent by Debby Grahl is four stars of fun, romance, and trickery. I received an eARC from the publisher through NetGalley for use in this review.

I loved the paranormal aspect of The Silver Crescent.  It's what drew me to this's just the kind I like...not over the top unbelievable for me, but remotely possible!  Just maybe there are ghosts all around us that we just can't see.  Debby used this concept well to pull me in and hook me in The Silver Crescent! Debby writes a well blended plot about romance, ghosts, and a decades old unsolved mystery.  She pulls it all together well and each is very relevant to the other.  The spirits have a story to tell and a mystery they've waited a long time to help solve.  They've been waiting for the right people to come along.  Max is finally doing what he's always wanted to do in a mansion that seemed to call to him as soon as he saw it.  Elsie is trying to right a wrong from the past, and Max unknowing might play a big part in that.  From a first meeting that did not leave a good impression, to a romance that has each of them falling fast and hard, they work together to solve a mystery.  Elsie still has secrets though, secrets that might destroy what her and Max have found as a couple before they can find what was hidden in the past and put the spirits to rest.   Max and Elsie were not perfect people, and this made them into people I could imagine anywhere.  Elsie has secrets, Max is over bearing, but the connection between them is easy to feel, and I enjoyed the progression of their relationship. There is good vs evil in both the spirit world and the living of the present day...and all of them are making their presence known.  There are quite a few living secondary characters too who all have a lot to add to the plot in a relevant way.  I really, really enjoyed Oliver!!!  He just might have been my favorite character! Debby took me on a haunting, heart felt journey through the pages of The Silver Crescent.  I liked how Max and Elsie met and the events that occurred afterwards took me through a modern day romance with a look to the past and how it impacts their lives today. The Silver Crescent is well paced and easy to follow.  I really enjoyed the quotes Debby used at the beginning of each chapter, they fit really well with the plot. I'd recommend The Silver Crescent to any romance reader who likes some mystery and paranormal in the mix!  I will definitely be reading more of Debby's books!

The cover got my attention. Then the title pulled  me in. I love a good mystery.  the author threw in a paranormal  laced  romance, and them a very heated one in the here and now. I found myself unable to put this book down and cant wait for the next book by Debby Grahl. Being a male I hate to admit  I found myself as much into the romance as the mystery.  This book has murder, mystery, romance and the paranormal. You will find yourself on set with the realistic characters. I recommend this book to both male and female readers. They wont be disappointed!

This is an exceptionally well written book that will keep your rapt attention as you read it.  The mystery and romance will keep your blood flowing!  My husband, who is not a reader, can't wait to read it too!  I can't wait for Debby Grahl's next book to come out!  A friend said that it was a lesson for her (when you read it, you will know what kind of lesson I refer to). :)  I have one word for 'The Silver Crescent'...FANTASTIC!!!! :)
