Katrina Mann is nervous about starting third grade in a new school, especially since her family includes the Snarth, an exuberant creature with a long list of old friends, including Zoar the dinosaur and king Tut. The Snarth sneaks into school and soon become popular as a lively playmate, history teacher, and bearer of thoughtful gifts to pupils and teachers -- until it is discovered by Mr. Flatt, the strict school principle. Mr. Flatt is determined to banish the Snarth from Cedarville Elementary forever. But then he learns that both he and the Snarth have a mutual friend whose beliefs in tolerance and humanity win the Snarth the right to go to school. The Snarth Goes To School introduces a new, endearing, and entertaining character who, showcased by the bright and exuberant artistry of Frank Sergi, is ideal for teaching tolerance and the joy of being unique to young readers.
