Captain Bennett Sheraton, a Navy SEAL, is in the running to head a secret space mission, and also to find out what happened to SEALs who died in the process. Dr. Kimberly Warren, who developed the Warren Shuttle, is having problems with some members of the scientists; there is a struggle for power and not only because she’s a woman. Kimberly and Bennett immediately feel the pull of attraction, but they have to be careful, especially when they have to work together to discover what is really happening. I wasn’t really sure what to expect from THE SOUL OF A SEAL, as Ms. Elizabeth was a new author to me, but wow! The pacing of the story is flawless, the descriptions were so spot-on that I felt I was on the premises, the technical stuff seemed entirely believable, and seldom have I read sexual chemistry that was so palpable, that felt so real, without ever being over the top. Anne Elizabeth’s characterisation of Bennett and Kimberly is fabulous! I saw them, I heard them, and I loved them so very much, individually and together. Kimberly is a real professional, and I always got the feeling that she really belonged there; her being an engineer is not just some titled bestowed on a female character to make it all look good; Kimberly behaves like the brainy woman that she is, and she is not afraid of her sexuality either. And the sex scenes are splendid; tender, loving, playful, and very, very hot! There was a tiny little thing that grated: the overuse of the word “brethren”, but in the grand scheme of things, it really is a mere trifle, given the splendid writing overall, and the writing is truly stupendous, whether the narrative or the fabulous dialogues. THE SOUL OF A SEAL features some incredibly realistic space mission sequences, I felt I was watching everything up close; it was all so very exciting. And that ending! An important detail that had been mentioned at the beginning, and that I had entirely forgotten, added to the suspense towards the end. THE SOUL OF A SEAL is a fabulous suspense, a lovely and most convincing love story, and one of the best female characters ever written! This is on fabulous book! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

First, I loved how this book combined science/syfy with romance. That is a really blend and I think that Ms. Elizabeth did an outstanding job of creating a believable shuttle program with a strong leader, Dr. Kimberly Warren. Her facility is under fire and two members of her team have lost their lives due to sabotage. The government brings two seals into the program as a way of figuring out who is responsible. Bennett Sheraton is a naval Seal who is excited to get his chance to develop the next outer space vehicle. Bennett and Kimberly start off by scratching an itch, but soon their hook up leads to a real relationship. Will their relationship survive sabotage, space, and separate careers? You might ask why this isn't a 5 star review? Well that is a complicated answer because this romance has a lot of suspense and action. There are some parts of the story that were over the top and almost unbelievable. I really did like this book and will continue to read all of Ms. Elizabeth's novel. I was given a free copy for an honest review.
